Musky. 25 October 2022.

As I gazed, deeper and deeper into the Cosmos, my eyes clouded over and blurred, and then it appeared, Dog. A part of me always knew, and I was comforted.

The little egret (Egretta garzetta) is a species of small heron in the family Ardeidae. The genus name comes from the Provençal French Aigrette, "egret", a diminutive of Aigron," heron". The species epithet garzetta is from the Italian name for this bird, garzetta or sgarzetta.

It is a white bird with a slender black beak, long black legs and, in the western race, yellow feet. As an aquatic bird, it feeds in shallow water and on land, consuming a variety of small creatures.

At one time common in Western Europe, it was hunted extensively in the 19th century to provide plumes for the decoration of hats and became locally extinct in northwestern Europe and scarce in the south. Around 1950, conservation laws were introduced in southern Europe to protect the species and their numbers began to increase. By the beginning of the 21st century the bird was breeding again in France, the Netherlands, Ireland and Britain.

Taken on a trip January to Key West Florida. At the moment all the Gulls came into frame after a fighter jet flew past at a low altitude startling the birds and myself.

This shot had a lot of help. I wasn't going to post because I was pretty heavy handed in the post processing. I had an unusual issue with most of the photo being underexposed but a few of the Sea gulls' tails were blown out. It took a bit of effort to remedy that. Other than fixing a couple tail feathers, I removed 2 buoys and a couple wings entering the frame. Lots of layers masks and saturation.

,Thank you Unmesh for your informative youtube videos, a year ago I knew nothing .

This image was so under exposed to point of no return. Not one detail in heron. Put it into a 'painting' instead. Wish I remembered how I did it.

Stunning sky with stunning reflections. The others can stand just as silhouettes. Nothing more, nothing less.

Enjoy!

sorry for the lack of activities lately.

i just had my wisdom tooth surgically removed, that's why i can't comment much, my mouth still hurt.

American-Dog in Thailand is waiting for me outside the store. He is waiting for me to buy a big, cold bottle of water.

Bangkok weather is very similar to the weather of the planet Mercury. It is very sunny and hot.

The unusual thing about American-Dog in Thailand is that if you expose for his closest eye his background completely disappears. Hmmm.

I found a print of this image last night, an underexposed print, and I realized that with my recent advent of negative scanning (as opposed to scanning prints) that it might turn into something interesting. I've probably been through this particular set of prints three times now, and each time I find something that catches my eye - and didn't before.

This is a pinhole image that I took from the top of Eagle Falls, which overlooks Lake Tahoe. While we weren't fortunate enough for any interesting clouds that morning, I was still amazed at the goldeness of it all. I think pinhole did a good job of capturing that light and motion.

As for the title, I am excited tonight. I am perhaps not as blindly optimistic as the title suggests, but I am optimistic nevertheless. Four years ago I was depressingly discouraged at America's decision. Today I am proud of us. I am also a bit nervous in wondering what the next few years will be, because I believe that my/our decision will bring about the greatest amount of change that would have been possible. And change, even when desperately needed, can be scary. But as I've heard multiple times today - there is nothing to fear but fear itself. I am ready for this. I think America is ready for this. Certainly, the rest of the world is ready for America to be ready for this. ;-) And I am proud.

I am also very happy to be done listening to political ads. Ha.

Happy Election Day, all. Thanks for voting.

This was shot a week back, when i visited an abandoned factory with friends. That was the first time, i went to such place, but it surely won't be the last. Awesome experience. :)
