The overhead switches for the tire pressure and fueltank switch, which I just had to include. Also, because it's such an easy system: sunvisors.

Album: Capri Restoration and Rebuild

We are proud to offer this amazing 1965 Cobra replica. It seems there are many Cobra kits on the market, but what makes one better than the other? Quality of chassis, body construction, finishing materials, drive train, and who built it are among the best questions. We are pleased to say that this Cobra has all the right answers to those questions! Built in house by Specialty Motor Cars LLC in Fayetteville Arkansas, this professionally built factory replica is of the highest quality, both in construction and finish! SMC specialized in handcrafted automobiles and built amazing replicas, both Shelby Cobras and Ford GT40s, but sadly the small company lost its owner to heart conditions and was sold to B&B Manufacturing in the early 2000’s.

BODY:

The fiberglass body was hand laid and rolled using ISO resins, the finest available. Starting with 4 layers of 2oz mat followed by Coremat and one 10oz layer of cloth. No cheap chop-gun production like most kits! Steel reinforcements are glassed in all stress and hinge points. The body was painted in beautiful Bright Red with White racing stripes. The paint is wonderful with great shine and depth. The SMC body is straight and the gaps and alignments are spot on. Full bumpers in chrome both front and rear not only look good but help protect the body and its passengers from harm. Dual Talbo Styled side mirrors make driving easier, and look fantastic! Chrome roll bar is not only great looking but a fully functional safety devise, tied into the frame at three structural points. A quick fill aluminum gas cap finishes off the racy look of the originals.

INTERIOR:

The interior is very comfortable and authentic looking. There is plenty of room under the wheel for your legs and it is easy to access all switches and shifter. All gauges are easy to see and read. It is fully upholstered in Black Vinyl with a padded dash. Seats are soft but still keep you planted on those twisty roads. A 4-point safety harness by M&R Products was installed for both driver and passenger. Locking glove box is an option seldom seen in a Cobra but always welcome! Both doors have map pockets in them and chrome door latches. Shelby Cobra wood steering wheel really helps with the authentic touch. Very high quality VDO gauges include Speedometer, Tachometer, Ampmeter, Temperature, Oil Pressure, Clock, and Fuel Level. A Very handy accessory is the electric wipers, Smoked Sunvisors, and Clear Windwings. Pioneer Stereo system with AM/FM/CD headunit, Speakers, and power antenna for when you get tired to listening to that great engine sound, if that ever happens!

ENGINE:

The heart of this beast is a fully tuned fuel injected 5.0 Liter HO V8 mustang engine with a Vortech V-1 supercharger system installed. The 302ci engine is now capable of 345hp, a lot of fun in such a light car. The upper intake, supercharger, aluminum valve covers, and intake tubes are polished. A Vortech Ignition/Boost controlled keeps the ECM and ignition functioning correctly. Accel super coil provides plenty of spark. The full length headers are connected to chrome side pipes with built in O2 Sensors. The car stays cool in the summer heat with twin electric cooling fans just like the ones used in the original Shelby Super Snake Cobra. Engine is mated to a bullet proof Borg Warner T-5 transmission, the same 5-speed used in Mustang GTs.

CHASSIS:

All SMC Cobra frames were built with MIG welded .120” wall 2”x4” rectangular steel tubing. This is done to reduce dangerous frame flexing which is common in round tube frame cars. The frames are designed to use Mustang II independent front suspension with power rack and pinion steering. An X brace is welded into the center of the frame for added strength, so it could easily handle the powerful engine. The rear of the frame was designed to accept Mustang GT rear suspension with 4-bar trailing arm design. The rear end is an 8.8 unit with 28 spline axles. SMC designed and built every frame to be safe, strong, and perform. Front disc brakes and drum rear are more than enough to stop the car safely. The wheels are 2-piece aluminum units from Compomotive. Tires are BF Goodrich Comp T/A and measure in at 275/50R16 Rears and 245/50R16 Front.

This one owner car is in fantastic condition with only 5902 actual miles since its build in 1995. Having spent all its time on display in climate controlled storage when not being driven and lovingly cared for my industry professionals. All gauges and light work, wipers and horn too.

Stage two of the DAF CF ROLL-ON/OFF Wagon and Drag, (EU06 HKK) revamp complete with Sticker's, Wheel Trim's and it's SunVisor now Fitted. The next stage includes a full Valet inside and out and a full mechanical check of the Lorry and Trailer before it's MOT.

n 2001 Volvo introduced the third generation of the FH and FM series with the cab and driveline given major makeover. Major changes included redesign of the cab to improve aerodynamics, the new automatic gearchange transmission, I shift, new electronics system and engine improvements. Including redesigned air intake and flat floor, new rear view mirrors were introduced to reduce blind spots and improve air flow, new headlights and front side marker lights, new split sunvisor and new wider front steps complemented the external modifications. The interior was redesigned with more rounded edges around the dashboard and new seats with integrated seatbelts. Integrated telephone speaker and microphone with steering wheel controls for radio and inbuilt GSM phone were an option..

Another one rescued from the torch, this is an early Jennings cabbed LV. Note the high mounted indicator lamps and lack of a peak over the windscreen (sunvisor) on the cab.

This one was new to Valentin Ord & Nagle of Bletchley, it then passed to J Scarrott Funfairs who used it with their Supercars Ride before ending up in Shropshire.

This has changed hands a few times since we owned it, last known of owned by an Irish chap. Ashley Pearce part restored it, and it was last seen for sale on eBay last year for £7000.

In 1953, the F-1 Pickup became the F-100. For 1953 they got a new squarer shaped cab, a stylish new grille, and longer hood that flowed into the front fenders.

1954 saw a revised 'strut mounted' grille, V8 models got the V8 badge on the grille, Deluxe models got extra chrome embelleshments to the grille and side of the hood, armrests and sunvisors. The old V8 Flathead replaced with the new Y Block and the 'Ford-O-Matic was now an option.

Models available were; 1/2 ton F-100, 3/4 ton F-250, 1 ton F-350 and the 'Big Job' F-700.

The early F-Series were marketed as Ford Freighter in Australia, the local division not adopting the F-Series nomenclature until 1956.

Engines; 115hp 223 cu in 6 cyl or 162hp 239 cu in Y block V8.

The next project currently being undertaken at GBN Uxbridge is this Wagon and Drag ROLL-ON/OFF, (EU06 HKK) which was based at GBN Southend and is currently undergoing a revamp at Uxbridge before being sent and based at GBN Leyton. It is seen here after being resprayed and having had new Beacon's Fitted whilst it awaits stickering and a SunVisor.

This lady often cycles through our street wearing the most extravagant and colourful outfits.

It still needs some modifications to match the real thing, like a sunvisor, a camper interior and a trailer....

Cnudde Asphalt from Bay City,Michigan ran this tattered but still reliable Lansing built Diamond Reo well into the 21st century. Photographed in either 2007 or 2008. Notice it has been updated with more modern rectangle style headlights and Autocar styled sunvisor above the windshield.

1963 Ford Galaxie 500 XL convertible plastic 1/25th scale promotional model by AMT. I found this at an antique swap meet sitting in the back with a pile of other toys on a table of firefighter cars and trucks. Someone long ago decided to paint the entire car a thick coat of red spray paint. Luckily they took all the chrome off and glass before painting. It was a mess, I was told to use Extra Strength Easy Off Oven cleaner to get the paint off by a guy who sold promos. I thought he was crazy, but after a little work it all came off. After that I polished it with car polish. As you can see it is in very good condition even the sunvisors are still complete which is very unusual for an old promo convertible. It was well worth the $15.00 I paid for it.

" TONS OF CHROME " and 1957 Caddy hub caps

This "paint everything red!" Ford Cargo truck was produced by Ford Otosan.

Note the red overpainted cab marker lights and the "ALLAH KORUSUN" (May God protect you) sticker on the sunvisor.

Ford Otosan is a Turkish automotive production company, which is a joint venture between Ford Motor Company and Koç Holding. It started production in 1965; currently Ford and Koç each hold a 41% share in the venture.

Ford introduced an all new car in 1941, a wider body that nearly covered the running boards, the headlights moved right forward. The grille on the 41 car had a tall centre section with a kidney shaped section either side. Ford also introduced its first six cylinder in 1941, a 90hp 226 cu in.

Three models available;

Special; black windshield surround, painted grilles, one taillight, one wiper and very basic interior. Only available in Grey.

Deluxe; Smooth bumpers, the center grille was chrome. Outer grilles were body color. Inside, plastic grained dash, a clock and sunvisors.

Chevy Cameos were made from 1955 to 1958 and the 1958 Cameo is one of the rarest pickup models ever made. Until the mid 1950s, pickup trucks were purely practical, simple, and utilitarian in design. The Chevy Cameo changed all that. It was marketed to the upper classes and produced with fashionable amenities, two-tone paint, and embellished with finer interiors and accessories.

Everything opens - the bootlid is sprung to stay open or closed in the same way as the real one. There's a detailed interior with adjustable seats, adjustable sunvisors, and a folding armrest in the rear. The front seat runners are mounted on a slope, so any size of driver is the right height - a helpful feature of the real one as well.

The Museum's placard for this car reads:

1953 STUDEBAKER

Model: Champion Model 14G Starliner “Hard Top” Convertible

Built by: The Studebaker Corp., South Bend, Indiana

Price: $2,116

Engine: L-Head 6 cylinder, 85 H.P.

Bore: 3 in.

Stroke: 4 in.

Displacement: 169.6 cu. in.

Production of the new 1953 Studebaker Commander and Champion models signaled introduction of the cleanest and most esthetically styled cars of the fifties. Features of the new styling included a long sloping hood, slim two-section horizontal grille with two suspended bars, small bumper guards, full wheel openings, and a reverse-angled slant styling theme that influenced the door contour line, the slant of the rear taillights, and the shape of the rear quarter windows. There was some resemblance between the 1952 grille and the 1953 version, but the new grille was much cleaner looking and had far less chrome trim. Studebaker’s conservative use of chrome was in stark contrast to the industry’s constantly expanding use of shiny trim, so the Parts and Accessories Division came up with an extensive list of accessory trim items for customers to choose from. Hood and fender ornaments, fog light bumperettes, wire wheelcovers, and exterior sunvisors were just a few that were listed. Model year production for 1953 was 169,599 Studebakers built, with the Champion model lasting until 1958.
