We've all heard the news that Kodak has finally officially cut the strings on Kodachrome. The important thing now is to carry on and shoot the Kodachrome we have left for the farewell run.
For 135 cameras, I have an Olympus XA, Canon QL17, Nikon FE, FE2 and F100. Loading up one of the manual Nikons would be very classic, but the F100's conveniences and compatibility with my newest G lenses are tempting.
What camera are you going to load to kick things off?

I have two rolls that my dad left behind...both rolls expired in 1983. I think I'll load one into my Canon T90. The second roll might have to go into the Canon 7 my dad bought while he was in Thailand during the Vietnam war. Seems fitting. I should probably get some rolls of this stuff that aren't expired so I can shoot some of the good stuff before it's too late.
What does Dwayne's charge to process it?

I just got some processed and I didn't see the color punch I've seen with other films. Maybe because they were expired and probably not stored properly.
Or, maybe the 60's really looked like that.

My uncle used to work for Playboy and I once asked him what they used to shoot. He said they used Kodachrome with either Leica or a Pentax Spotmatic. I don't have a Leica, but I do have a Spotmatic so I will send off Kodachrome with that camera.
I was lucky recently and found some on sale in Boots - I got 9 rolls for £18 including processing. I've shot one roll already in my Spotmatic and I'll probably use that to shoot the rest of it.
I got a slide projector while I was waiting for the first film to come back, there really is nothing like projected slides.

My only decent 35mm camera is my faithful Hexar AF, which made a couple of lovely Kodachrome images last year. But that 35mm lens is a wee bit limiting ...
I think I very well may try some portraits with this massive Yashica Lynx 14. Vintage camera for some glorious vintage film.

I would use my XA4 if I knew where it was (anyone seen it?) but I would probably use my Zorki 4 and my N8008 if I needed the additional lenses.
I bought an F5 not too long ago for 3 basic reasons:
- I always wanted that body!
- I shoot Nikon digital, thought I'd try to get the very best from my lenses by shooting film with a top end body
- I wanted to start shooting Kodachrome again.
I'll probably shoot my last 13 rolls of KR64 with the M7ii and panorama adapter (24x65mm, like an XPAN).

First one will be my Yashica FX-3. Either that or my Nikon N75.I really don't have many great 35mm cameras.

My last roll will go into a F100.

Minolta X-700 and Minolta Maxxum 7000. Receiving a 135mm f/3.5 Rokkor and 28mm f/2.8 W Rokkor-X to go along with my 50mm f/1.4 on the X-700. The stock 50mm and the ole' Beer Can on the Maxxum. I'll be doing pretty good by the Kodachrome with those two.
I will put the last roll of Kodachrome 25 from the freezer up on ebay in a few months to put my kid through college the roll of 64 goes into the Nikon N90s.

Minolta X-700 with Vivitar Series 1 28-90 f/2.8-3.5 with K64, what all my baby pictures were shot on :)
Also probably will shoot a roll on my FED 5V which is in perfect condition, haven't had a single problem with it going on 30 rolls.

Looking at the announcement on Dwayne's site, it sounds like Kodak has just run a master roll and plans to shut down the coating machine but will spool that master roll until it's all gone. That's like 10,000 rolls or something, right??? We can all have fun with those 10,000 rolls and make the most of it in the next year or two.
I have a few rolls, and one will definitely go through my trusty ol' T70, as it was the first camera i shot Kodachrome with. Maybe another through the 1950's vintage Voigtlaender Vito??
"That's like 10,000 rolls or something, right???"
Yeah but you know a bunch of dickish speculators are going to buy up huge amounts of it just to turn a profit on eBay.

I believe that it is simply whatever expires in 2010 is the end. That would mean that the rolls on the shelf are the end. I believe the discontinuance has more to do with processing than production.

I'm going to try to find at least one roll to use in my Nikon N80.

My old trusty Nikon FM2--the first camera I ever shot Kodachrome with. And, just for fun, my Horizon 202 panoramic.
My dad's old FED-2, which he let me use after he bought an SLR in about 1986 - handed over with a half used roll of K64 inside. Also, my first SLR, a Praktica LTL, which I probably shot more Kodachrome than anything else in, late 80's early 90's.

That probably started happening the moment the word went out.

I'm amazed that so many people will be running it through toy cams. Won't they be horribly underexposed?

I have a couple rolls in the fridge and just bought a brick of 24 more off of eBay, and I can't wait to shoot as much as possible in the next year and a half.
I'm going to put it through my three favorite cameras of the moment: an Olympus OM-4 with my Zuiko 24mm, 50mm, and 135mm lenses, a Voigtlander Bess R3A with 40mm lens (beautiful), and an Olympus Trip 35 for shits and giggles.

I'm waiting on my first three rolls ever from B&H. While I'd love to run them through my 1967 Nikon F, the meter is kinda wonky on it. Sure, i have a hand-held meter, but if I use my N65, I can also use my 50mm f/1.4G lens.
I want these sharp and properly exposed.

I have to admit, I think it's a lot more daring to be shooting with a Barbie cam than a Holga regardless of which film. The Holga has a built-in constituency, but with a Barbie cam you're out there alone. :D

It would be my Ricoh GR1s, Yashica Electro 35 GTN and Nikon F90x. If ever I get an F5 before 2010 then I'll run the last 3 through it.

I knew I should've got some Kodachrome the other week when I ordered from Freestyle. Now there's gonna be a bottleneck. Hopefully it dies down so I can get a roll at a reasonable price.
As for cameras - I just got an Olympus OM-1n. Even though it came with the lowly 50mm 1:1.8 lens, I'm blown away by the thing. I'd like to put some Kodachrome in there while I still can.

I'll most likely use my Olympus OM-1n :)
Maybe a roll or two through my Pentax MX.
Maybe a roll or two through my Pentax MX.
The best results I've gotten from Kodachrome have been from my Kodak Retina Ia. So that's probably what I'll run most of it through.
I might run a roll through my Blackbird, Fly without a mask and ask Dwayne's to just return the developed negatives without mounting them, just for the hell of it. I'll use a light meter with the camera for that roll, though.

my Canon A-1, my one and only camera! haha. i have 8 rolls coming next week. can't wait to start with those!

I'm thinking of putting a roll in either my Canonet QL-17 or my Nikon N75. Probably will just go in my Yashica FX-3 as it's the only camera I'm bringing with me these days, though I did just get a mint Pentax K1000 for free ...
Part of me wishes I had a nice Kodak 35 Rangefinder or some other vintage Kodak as it would seem somewhat symbolic of something.
I'll be using my Minolta α-7 (Japanese version of the Maxxum 7). I would love to use one of my manual focus Minoltas, but I just don't trust the metering, and don't want to be let down. Who knows, if I get some good shots on the first two for sure, I might run my last roll through my Trip 35 or XA2 just for kicks.
@ Christopher B.: I actually thought of running through my Kodak 35 also, but I'd probably screw up the exposure on all the shots.

I think it's down to my FE or F100. Maximum flexibility. The FE2 had to get loaded with... more B&W because I ran empty while there were shots to take.

Booyah.
Nikon F2A + Nikkor Glass + Kodachrome = My own personal homage to National Geographic of the late '70s.
I am going to run my remaining Kodachrome films through my FE2, F100, and Olympus Trip-35.
I have one expired roll in hand and six fresh on the way from B&H. The expired roll will go in my "new" Olympus XA but only after I've checked the metering etc out with a roll of Provia. The fresh rolls will go in my CLE since I want to give them my absolute best shot.
Unless I want to do some macro -- flowers and bugs are great with Kodachrome -- macro means Pentax for me.

Only have one camera, Nikon FE. Actually two. And currently, seven rolls of KR.
But when I get a few more rolls, I think I'll give some of them away to some who may enjoy it.
Why not?

we have a few large pink hotels down here in Florida. Should be interesting to see how the film handles our odd colors.

One will go into my trusty Pentax P30.
The other I have to shoot using my M42 Carl Zeiss lenses. So it will be either a Spotmatic or a Praktica.

My first (and probably last) three rolls will go in either my Pentax K1000 or my trusty 1960 Kodak Retinette IB (nice to try period film in a period camera)
I'm shooting it with my Nikon L35AF. Really sharp lens, and it seems appropriate to use an old camera for this classic film.

I loaded up my F100 and managed to shoot the roll out while a couple of my sisters, niece and nephew were here. One frame got mangled from unintentional use of the self-timer and some of the group shots are likely a total loss due to improper lighting. On the other hand, I dared to take the F100 and 50mm 1.4G wading into the lake to get closer shots of my niece and nephew in the water and I'm certain I got some additional material at a favorite rocky beach.
This is my first, and probably only family snapshot roll on Kodachrome. If they turn out at all, I think it'll be a good feeling.

I've got two rolls - one will go in RF with single-coated lens and another - in SLR with assorted lenses.
I just found 7 rolls on eBay (that weren't too crazy expensive) and I'll be putting them through my Olympus XA, my Yashica Electro 35 (if it gets fixed) or - if I manage to buy one in time - a Leica MP! But that's not going to happen realistically. So one of the first two...

I got my first two rolls back, one shot with my FE2 and the other with my F100. Haven't had time to scan them yet, but I broke out the ancient family GAF-brand tabletop slide viewer to have a peek and I have to say, I'm pretty happy. I was very concerned about limited latitude, but I feel I did as well with K64 as I've done with any other film.
will shoot my entire remaining stock on my OM-3, my tribute to K64
Yesterday I put a roll in a Nikon F100 and another roll in a Vivitar M42 mount camera.

The only other camera that may run kodachrome in it will be my dad's Trip 35. A relative keeps it and uses at times, let's hope it's in good condition. This camera did a lot of travelling (wothy of it's name).

I wasn't planning on participating in the Kodachrome farewell party, but since it's looking like my wife and I will be visiting the U.S. this autumn I can justify sending a few rolls to Dwayne's while I'm there.
I can't travel with a raft of film cameras so it will probably be a Nikon FA.

I've loaded up my Canon AV-1 with one of my last rolls. I'll be using it on our first baby when it arrives next month. I'd like to think that he/she would be interested in film photography or just photography when they're older.
Although it'll probably not be interested at all and bin the lot when I'm deed!

As much as I love my Retina IIIC and other vintage cameras, at this point I'll be using my Pentax P30t for the rest of the Kodachrome I have, since it has the most accurate meter (unless, of course, I can get my hands on a Stereo Realist before 2011).

A Super 8 video camera since I only have a roll of that stuff for it, which was expired in the early 1980's.
Personally I'm not sad to see it go, sure it's history, but I was never really all that impressed with it - however I'm more of a cool color person and Fuji has always been my film of choice.

In the past I've used it in the sears brand camera, and I think 1 roll in the FE. That stuff was expired but still good. Frozen since 1988. When I heard it was discontinued I bought 3 rolls. So far I've shot 2 through the F4, and thats probably where the last'll go too. Funny thing, both times it was at the beach, and the F4 braved the surf. I was up to my waist in the waves!
