Bethan & I did a bit of cutting back and weeding in the garden, before collecting Lucas from pre-school. He was then ready for lunch (so was I!) and his nap. When he woke, I took him to the funfair on The Leys - but unfortunately we had to wait quite a while for it to open. However, Lucas enjoyed looking around, even though the rides weren't going. Actually, it might have been a good job, as he was used to the sights before he was bombarded with the sounds and movement - which he loved! He enjoyed looking at everything, and loved the music and the big, tall rides, and also the car, train and fire engine merry-go-round rides... but he didn't want to go on anything!
I was able to be a bit later in getting to Witney today, as Lucas is now at pre-school each morning from 8.30 - 11.30am. It was lovely to be able to go with Bethan to pick him up today. He'd had a lovely time, once he'd gone in (according to the staff), and was happy when he came out. It's only his second day, but he seems to be adjusting to it.
We played together a little, then I took him up for his nap - took a while to go off, but did eventually, and slept well. Bethan & I had lunch and did a few jobs around the house. After Lucas had his lunch, I took him to the park - we enjoyed splashing in the big puddle in the splash park, and watching the crane moving equipment about as the team were building the rides in preparation for the funfair next week - the Witney Feast.
Oh, I nearly forgot - it's our wedding anniversary today (42 years). Mike was doing the washing up, and called me to the kitchen to see the lovely light through the trees and clouds, which I then photographed from my bedroom window. We don't make much fuss about anniversaries, but are nevertheless grateful to have each other :-)
