Beautifully lighted skyline of Dalmatian city of Split seen from its most popular vantage point - Vidilica!

The city of Split was built around the Palace of the Roman Emperor Diocletian in the 300 AD. The Palace is fully preserved and is now a UNESCO World Heritage site, with 1700 years of history. You can find temples of the Roman Gods, Emperors' Mausoleum, marble sphinxes which were brought from Egypt for the Emperor, and many other marvels. :-)

Jednostavno, znamo da ne postoji vrijeme ni mjesto...

Simply, we know there is no time and no place ... ;)

The first belvedere (The First Panoramic view point) is situated on the eastern slope, and it can be reached by stone steps mounting from the Riva. From above, a breathtaking view opens up onto the city, its port, and the surrounding area. On this place there are also “smart benches” where cell phones or tablets can be charged free of charge, and you can drink coffee, tea or just sit ...

Old town of Šibenik with Sv. Mihovil fortress in the morning, view from Vidilica hill

This description from the Tourist board of Split :- This church was built in 1219 by the citizen of Split Rako and his wife Elisabeth and donated to the abbey of St. Stephen on Sustipan. It was taken care of by the Benedictine monks, later hermits, and today the Marjan society, which, with the help of countless citizens of Split, repaired it in the year 1990. St. Nicholas on the Hill can be found on the southeast slope of Marjan, around two hundred meters above the Prva Vidilica (First Peak), from where a spectacular view spreads over the sea and the ships St. Nicholas protected since ancient times, along with their crew.

Comme flowers perking up the stone house along the stairs going uphill: -

Pass the Sv. Frane on the left and follow the Trubiceva Obala and at the end you will spot a staircase. Take those stairs uphill and you will end up at the Vidilica lookout where you can have a drink in the Café Vidilica and enjoy the great views over the city center.

The Café Vidilica is located in the old Jewish cemetery building. Behind the building is the old Jewish cemetery itself, dating back to 1573.

If you continue uphill for a bit you will get to the small church of Sv. Nikole Putnika which dates back to 1219. You can have a peek inside through the small window at the back. Because of the darkness you may not see much but your camera will see more.
