This is the "Tapress" - the newspaper for Tappan Zee High School. It's spooky when you start seeing yourself in print. I'm in the sports section for christ's sake. outrageous.

but really, that picture is something else. the perspective and line and focus are twisted. The resolution was way less than I thought it would be in the paper. they spelled both Eli and Michael's names wrong. They got my shit right though. yeah!

this is fucking cool. I've been in this city since 1984 trying to fucking do something just like I'm doing now but I could never have imagined this shit at all. Digital is king now. I find it hard to believe it will be forever, but while it's here I'm there.

The team everyone wrote off, with the exception of the true blue fans, beat the New England Patriots 17-14. Ending the Pats season at 18-1 easily one of the biggest sports upsets in history. GO GIANTS!!!!!

Canadians INVENTED football? Really??

That's right, Suz, Tom and Eli!

SUZ, I KNOW, I know… the air gets thin at higher altitudes but just remember this, Canadians INVENTED football–

And HOCKEY, and BASKETBALL, and LACROSSE.

While you attended Super Bowl 42 this year, I attended the 92nd Grey Cup in 2004.

Yes! That’s right!! The 92nd!!!

The CANADIAN FOOTBALL LEAGUE is ALSO the oldest professional sports league in North America!

From Wikipedia,

“In 1874, McGill University in Canada, invited Harvard to Montreal to play their NEW GAME “derived” from Rugby football in a home and home series.

Many of the SIMILARITIES and DIFFERENCES between the Canadian and American games indeed came out of this original home and home series where each home team set the rules.

For instance, Harvard due to lack of campus space did not have a full-sized rugby pitch. Their pitch was only 100 yards long x 50 yards wide with UNDERSIZED end zones (slightly less than the 53_-yard width of the current regulation size for American Football). Because of the reduced field, the Harvard team opted for 11 players per side, four less than the regulation 15 of Rugby Union. To generate more offence, the number of downs was also increased by Harvard, to 4 from 3 as set by McGill.”

Many, perhaps most, of the rules differences have arisen because of rules changes in American football in the early twentieth century which have not been copied by Canadian football.

The NFL credits Walter Camp as being the father of American football, who first became involved with the game in 1876.

WALTER, Yale’s captain, played in the FIRST Yale-Harvard game of rugby in 1876.

Remember Suz, Walter learned the NEW GAME of football from Harvard, two years after Harvard learned it from McGill.

Betcha' didn't know that Suzy Q!

Betcha' ALSO didn't know, that In 1942, Toronto RCAF won the Grey Cup!

Everyone is watching the game, except for Owen.

I think she made a cute football player.

We took the kids to the NFL Experience. Superbowl XLII is practically in our backyard so we didn't want to miss out. We went even though it was pouring out and had an awesome time. Lots of things to do and see. Wish we had more time to spend there.

Superbowl XLII - Glendale, AZ

University of Phoenix Stadium

February 3, 2008

Ok, so neither this team or the one my daughter was wearing is my hubs team, but its ok.

A very soggy (but fun) experience.

My parents and my son came over to watch the game.

Milk, it does a body good.

He thought this was fun.

NYC newspapers proclaim the Giants' victory in Super Bowl 42. The NY Daily News produced a double-sized front page for the occasion.

Another poster I did for the superbowl, same as the new york one.

In honor of the beginning of the 2008-2009 NFL season, may I present the "Should Have Been" MVP of Super Bowl 42...the Nutcracker.

The Nutcracker (who is neither a nut or a cracker) stood fearlessly by my TV for the entire 5 week run of the Post Season. Whenever an opponent thought they had bested the Giants, the Nutcracker cast his mojo upon them, and they wilted like a Clammy Joe handshake. Wearing my weathered old Giants hat like a suit of armor, he led the Giants to a victory that will live in the hearts and minds of football fans forever.

Skagon is an asshole.

Down the street from Cody's.

What do you do when you dislocate your kneecap right before your Super Bowl 42 party? Go to the ER? Fuck that. Grab the most ghetto wheelchair ever, an icepack, and drag your ass to the party.

I'm in the Giants jersey by the door, seconds before doubling over in laughter where tears literally rained out of my eyeballs upon seeing this...and then my friend raising his cellphone behind them. Oh yeah. GO GIANTS!!!
