We hiked Cottonwood Wash and investigated a couple of the slot canyons which intersect with the wash.
We hiked several miles up Sidewinder Canyon in Death Valley National Park. There are several very interesting side slot canyons which intersect with the main canyon. This is one of them. I imagine the recent flash flooding in the area has remodeled these canyons.
The main canyon is a couple miles long. However, there are several side slot canyons that are very interesting. The slot canyons require scrambling up and over ledges and crawling through tight spaces. The erosion in the conglomerate here is quite amazing. However, I would not want to be in these canyons during a rainstorm.

Horseshoe Bend Slot Canyon near Page, Arizona. Accessible only by joining an organised tour, this slot canyon isn't as well known as nearby Lower Antelope Canyon. The smaller number of visitors allows for a more pleasant visiting experience.
The main Sidewinder Canyon is a couple miles long. However, there are several side slot canyons of varying lengths that empty into the main canyon. Wilbur is making his way up one of the "drops" in a side canyon. There are lots of rocks in the walls to step on and hold onto, but there is always a concern that the rocks will suddenly loosen. We made it up quite a few of these obstacles. Getting back down was no easy feat either!

Kværndrup - Fyn - Danmark
Egeskov Castle (Danish: Egeskov Slot) is located near Kværndrup, in the south of the island of Funen, Denmark. The castle is Europe's best preserved Renaissance water castle.
Due to the troubles caused by the civil war known as the Count's Feud (Danish: Grevens fejde), general civil unrest, and a civil war introducing the Protestant Reformation, most Danish noblemen built their homes as fortifications. The castle is constructed on oaken piles and located in a small lake with a maximum depth of 5 metres (16 ft). Originally, the only access was by means of a drawbridge. According to legend, it took an entire forest of oak trees to build the foundation, hence the name Egeskov (oak forest).
Outside, the castle is a Late Gothic building. Inside the original elements already show Renaissance design.
A short slot canyon on the White Domes Trail in the Valley of Fire. One can easily reach from side to side of the canyon. I wouldn't want to be here after a heavy rainstorm!
This creek in Zion National Park is a favourite of mine. But don't be fooled by the placid appearnce. Even a moderate amount of rain turns it into a deadly, raging torrent
