I Tetraodontidi (Tetraodontidae Bonaparte, 1831) sono una famiglia di pesci ossei d'acqua dolce e salata, appartenenti all'ordine Tetraodontiformes, conosciuti comunemente come pesci palla.
Il nome Tetraodontidae deriva dalla lingua greca con il significato di "quattro denti".

Il mare in India del sud è molto pescoso, ogni giorno arriva sulle bancarelle il pescato in grande abbondanza di specie garantendo sempre pesce fresco.
Alla sera il pesce invenduto, non può essere conservato per mancanza di frigoriferi e siccome non si butta via niente, viene essicato. Qui vediamo granchi e gamberi per i buongustai del pesce come me.
