I spent a wonderful day at RC Family farm the other day. I was scouting their farm for a video that I am doing for them. I was not fully prepared to be up close and personal with the herd, but there they were. I was baptized with cow sh!t flying off their tails, but did not step in any.
I met the owner, Caleb, at the winter farmer's market last year, and after talking with him for a hot second, I asked him if he needed any help in promoting his farm. Many e-mails later, we are a step closer to production. Stay tuned.
If you ever get a chance, visit your local farmer and get to know them and support them. Take care everyone. B

The grill, nameplate, and engine section of a well-used Farmall Model A tractor dating from the 1940s. The tractor is on display along the roadside at a century farm (owned by a single family for over 100 years) in upstate New York.
Seen at the Valhalla Organic Macadamia Farm in Guatemala. The owners of this farm have made it their mission to bring macadamia nut trees to Guatemala and Central America. They give out hundreds of saplings a year to communities across the region in areas suitable for their cultivation. Once established, a macadamia tree can produce nuts for up to 150 years providing a sustainable source for high-quality protein and omega-3 fatty acids. They provide several varieties of trees to avoid the problems with fungus like you find on the banana and coffee plantations that rely on one variety of plant.

Playing around with a sale item from Dench Designs. Amanda has a pretty good sense of humour, so she shouldn’t mind.

Macro Mondays theme mesh: Copper mesh to keep snails out of the garden, lit by red light for the lack of any other suitable light source. It took quite some tries to take a photo worthy of uploading for this theme. What I like here is the combination of bokeh and reflection. Slight editing with Snapseed.
A cloud covered wheat field outside of Havre, Montana.
The clouds were absolutely beautiful this afternoon. As soon as I looked outside I knew where I needed to be. I passed this field some time ago and was waiting for some clouds and afternoon light to photograph it. This is the result.

Yet another Barn. This one was next door to Little Moreton Hall on an organic farm with all sorts of notices about bringing bugs/ chemicals onto the property. The Barn itself , whilst quite common in design is so different to the stone ones i am used to.

This view of Rodale Institute shows fields with cover crops, a critical component in sustainable agriculture that helps store carbon in the soil rather than allowing it to be released into the air as carbon dioxide.
Seen at the Valhalla Organic Macadamia Farm in Guatemala. The owners of this farm have planted several varieties of trees to avoid the problems with fungus like you find on the banana and coffee plantations that rely on one variety of plant. This allows for a high level of organic production at much lower cost since they don't have to spray the trees for fungus.
