Spotted in South Central Louisiana......this ole cabin still hangs in the balance.....season after season.
Hard to tell which one is actually providing the most support though.......the cabin or the ivy......
Thank Y'all for checking in and taking a look....
Your comments/remarks are always very much appreciated.
Have a Great Thursday !

One of my favorite run down old double cabin structures. A glorious sunsset made for such a fun shot. Don't usually place words on photos but this one seemed right. Thank you for all the sweet notes you gave to me yesterday.
This is the iconic autumn scene for Hope Valley, with the old cabin and golden aspen trees. A friend told me about this location yesterday. I love the area and had to capture this classic setting.

Once there were people who lived in this cabin and had a story all their own. Each time I go past it I wonder about their story.
I got this shot back in March of this year--when my sister Linda and I were out on a rainy day taking picture---I would like to get another shot of it - if I can find it again I will --Hehehehehe
HAVE A GREAT DAY YOU GUYS--THANKS FOR VISITING--CATCH UP WITH YOU LATER--SUPER BUSY TODAY!
Ranch along Paul Lake Road,
Kamloops, B.C.
By this picturesque old corral and cabin, the cows munch happily in the little strip of land which bears green grasses. I think the strip is a little lower than the surrounding land and holds what little moisture there is. To the left, there is a small pond.
No windows that I have taken recently so created some in MidJourney.. Happy Window Wednesday, Everybody!!!!!!
This old cabin is close to the track along Duncombe Terrace, which follows the contours of the escarpment.

Abandoned, weathered, tattered, & neglected ole cabins located in South Central Louisiana
Absent the modern-day technological advances, air-conditioning, the headaches of traffic, bombardment of emails, text messages, phone call solicitations, stock market worries, health care concerns, & shopping on the internet.....life was so much simpler back then.......
Doesn't really seem that long ago........
Anyone remember that era which some refer to as "The Good Ole Days" ?
Thanks for takin' a look & as always, I really appreciate the comments.
Have a great weekend ahead !
Former Worker's Living Quarters - shot at a Louisiana Sugar Cane Plantation in South Central LA. that happens to be the largest surviving, and most intact remaining 19th and 20th century sugar plantation complex in the United States.
There are nearly 60 original structures remaining. The oldest cabins were built in the 1830s to house the slaves of the plantation. The main plantation house was burned down by Union soldiers.
Many movies have been filmed at Laurel Valley including - "A Gathering of Old Men" - "Interview with a Vampire" - "A lesson before Dying" and "Ray".
Thank Y’all for visiting.
Here's wishing everyone a Marvelous Autumn weekend ahead !

"Announced by all the trumpets of the sky, Arrives the snow, and, driving o'er the fields, Seems nowhere to alight: the whited air Hides hills and woods, the river, and the heaven, And veils the farmhouse at the garden's end. The sled and traveller stopped, the courier's feet Delayed, all friends shut out, the housemates sit Around the radiant fireplace, enclosed In a tumultuous privacy of storm. " ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
I love this quote ... I have always felt that 'privacy of a storm' during snow storms and it is a feeling I just love.

THANKS ... have a great weekend.
After many hard winters, this is all that's left of an old hunting and whaling cabin, Danmark Ø, Scoresby Sund, East Greenland.

I took this photo in Hope Valley, California. The well-photographed cabin is on highway CA-88, so there was lots of traffic going past this otherwise tranquil autumn setting. I wanted to capture the iconic scene a little differently by using a panorama to take a look at the broader view. I took this shot before the afternoon sun was too low, but was low enough to cast shadows .... while keeping the cabin area sun-lit. Please comment on what you think.

I don't know if this was ever a homestead but I like to think it was. I've tried to find to some history on the place but to no avail. All I know is that it and two old out buildings are located on the land of a small working ranch with a large modern house and barn.
The Camera Club of Bozeman May assignment of "Old Log Cabins" has brought a lot of interesting cabins to light. I found mine this weekend at the Johnny Sack cabin at Big Springs in Island Park, ID. Big Springs gushes out 120 million gallons of water a day and is the headwaters of the Henry's Fork of the Snake River. The crystal clear water has a year round temperature of 52 degrees and the spring is one of the 40 largest springs in the world. Johnny Sack was a German immigrant and a pioneer of Island Park. who built the cabin and outbuildings in 1929. They are now a part of the National Register of Historic Places. When I first visited this spot (20+ years) the immense tree stump visible at the top of the frame had the rings of the tree marked by the year and major events of the time. Sadly, that was not preserved and the stump is rotting away.
Depending on how you look at this image, it may resonate differently with each of you. It's a focus stacked, blend to get the details and light correct. Could this be done in one shot, yes, the scene could be shot in one shot but it would be impossible to get the details and exposure all in one shot... So, I put the camera inside the old cabin, focus stacked the window frame and then took another shot for the mountain and other cabin. Then later that night I shot the milky way as it was setting over the mountain and blended it into the focus stacked scene to create the final image... That being said, this is an image/scene I plan to re-shoot. After talking with a friend about how to shoot this and get the window frame squared up, it's given me some ideas and I'd like to try it again so the window frame isn't askew...
I hope you all have a great weekend.
An old cabin at Shawnee Lookout. This photo was taken during a reenactment - Today (nearly 4 1/2 years later - I knocked a little dust off it) I added a little texture and removed a distraction.
This old abandoned hunting and whaling cabin has a great view through the windows over Fonfjord and the Volquaart von Kyst mountains of the Gaseland coast, and it's conveniently located on a small hill for watching for whales, polar bears and other wildlife. It has access to a sheltered harbour and landing beach and also has a nice cast iron stove to keep warm on those long cold nights. Since Greenland has few or no trees, the wood to build the cabin was likely brought by ship from Scandinavia. Danmark Ø, Scoresby Sund, East Greenland.

A small eerie cabin, built on the rocks is now abandoned. When walking through Yellowknife’s Old Town, you’ll notice this theme of people building structures on rocks. Building on rock was so popular because there was really no other choice due to the lack of flat ground in the area. The area this cabin was built on is know by locals as “The Rock”, which held water tanks to supply Old Town residents with water. I was out on a evening photoshoot with my dad when we were intrigued by this small cabin. Make sure to check out Michael Ewen’s photo of this small eerie cabin!
Just an old shack to anyone who doesn't know. But once it was a home, it was everything they wanted, a home, a life, a future filled with dreams and hope.
But gone now is the finish, a leaking roof, the insulation, broken windowpanes, and finally the paint slowly fading away like a dream before dawn.
And now it is just that, a shack to all who can see.
May your roof never leak
