My town has been working on replacing all the old sidewalks along Main Street - something that was honestly long overdue. Here they are working in front of 317 Main Community Music Center.

On going Spring into Summer on Jackson Street in Brookfield IL.

There continues to be lots of change at this location. Back in the day I took and posted plenty of photos of "Andy's Handy Store" - long gone now. The latest is "Thoroughfare". Think gourmet fast food burgers and fries. And we're sporting new sidewalks here.

I'm just as foolish as a dolt if not moreso when it comes to deciding how I ought to dress myself or how I ought to try and make the rooms of my livingàréa look nice but for the future I'm gonna try to keep this place's colours in my mind anytime chances come up for decisionmaking, in either of them regards.

More than anything I want eye-pleasing!, and I know I'm not the only one that does.

Part of a 19th century cast iron building front on an old building in the Rondout area of Kingston NY I don't know exactly where the casting factory was located but probably near the Rondout creek.

The work is almost complete on this section of the street just one more layer of blacktop should do it in Kingston NY.

This part is almost done just another layer of blacktop and some clean up in the Rondout area of Kingston NY.

Well it's certainly an architecture idea.

The contrast between the weedy and cracked-up old street vs the fresh new sidewalk in the foreground is gonna wave a red flag at angry drivers' rights activists.

I was ready to taunt passing motorists — "Boy this sure is a nice smooth sidewalk to walk on!" etc — but nobody drove on this street during the time I was here.

80 years of change at Canada Way and Sperling Avenue in Burnaby.

The Burnaby Lake Service (Home Gas) and the Burnaby Lake Trading Company (general store) are long gone but an ESSO convenience store is there to serve your gas & shopping needs.

Before Canada Way came into existence it was Douglas Road at this area. Douglas Road was early logging road that ran between New Westminster & Burrard Inlet.

I found this guywired young tree and these bubblewrapped bikeracks on the opposite side of this bright new sidewalk from that chainlinked residential bldg.

My understanding is that the workers haven't touched any of this for several months now. They left midproject what a shame.

We spent the morning together, went out for breakfast and visited points of interest around Charlevoix. Later we went to work getting Dad comfortable uploading photos to Flickr!

This was a perfect amount of Parthenocissus tricuspidata for a big blank wall on a sunny June day. I cheerfully imagined that the idea behind the pink sidewalk was that it would lead the residents of Niagara Falls away from the painful experiences of rustbelt times.

According to Google Streetview imagery, the patio was soon to be enclosed for use by a new restaurant. If you love restaurants, I suppose you're happy to hear about that!
