With the wine gone
What remains is that of woe
Will the darkness fade
Or arrive upon the morrow
It's going down
And with light shown
To reveal a land hollow
All will fall away
Left to find what is to follow
It's going down
It's going down
(Midlake)
Menil Fallow deer and freezing December fog, somewhere in North Dorset. Title is a great song by Midlake. Have a listen to their stuff if you don't already know them :)
Accidental double exposure. Another shot from the test roll in my new Lubitel 166B taken during a photo walk in Venice Beach with Jennifer.
I'm tired of being here, on this hill
No one lives to be three hundered years, like the way it used to be.
We gathered in Spring - Midlake.
The weather was too blustery today for macro shots, though you guys seem to have managed it! So ploughed on with the file marked 'holiday'. *sigh*..
This is me playing a little bit of my favourite song at the moment.
Midlake - Young Bride

Inspired by "Bandits" by Midlake (lyrics below) and the wonderful vintage photos uncovered by Mrs Inman. Need to sleep on this for a while, but here is the work in progress. Apologies if it gives you nightmares (!).
Did you ever want to be overrun by bandits
To hand over all of your things and start over new
While we were out hunting for food
Our house was being robbed
I caught an apple and she caught a fox
So I caught a rabbit but she caught an ox
So upon our return we found everything gone
Which for us was no loss
We started over with a rabbit and an ox
So they came down from the north
Carrying all they owned
With a basket full of food and clothes
They were stopped by a weekend raid
Traveling the woods one day
Tried to put up a fight but lost
So we asked for them to stay
With us on their way
To have a drink and rest
And regain their strength
Did you ever want to run around with bandits
To see many places and hide in ditches
It's not always easy, it's not always easy
When the winter comes and the greenery goes
We will make some shelter
When the winter comes and the greenery goes
We will make some shelter

Crossing Border is a Dutch festival where literature, music, film and the visual arts combine to take central stage. As well as courting the biggest names from the international worlds of literature and music, the festival pays a lot of attention to (as yet) undiscovered artists. One of Crossing Border’s hopes is to highlight new developments in literature and music and their interconnection with other arts. It takes places every year in The Hague. November 2010 brought the eighteenth edition of this festival that has evolved to become one of the foremost international, interdisciplinary literature and music festivals in Europe.
