I recently found a Magic: The Gathering channel on YouTube run by a pretty fricking sweet dude, Matches Malone. I joined his discord and his latest (a few days back) video gave me an idea for a Malone-themed viking picture. I also 'made' (with the aid of a Magic card creation website) a magic card for him. He was totally rapt, and featured it in his next video!
Even if you dont play Magic, his videos are often hilarious, especially the random songs.

On one of those perfect Klamath Basin fall days, Southern Pacific's Copic Local passes through Malone, Oregon on the Modoc Line.
The seasonal sugar beet campaign is underway. Except for a mechanical reefer and a covered hopper, the entire train is comprised of beet loads from a loader at Stronghold, California. The Copic will pause a couple of miles ahead at Merrill siding and pick up another cut of loaded beet racks from the beet dump there.
That wig wag protecting the Malone Road grade crossing lives on today, relocated all the way across the state of Oregon. It is now found adjacent to the enginehouse in Union Pacific's huge yard at Hinkle, in the northeastern part of the state.

"Molly Malone" - The Dubliners
This was a piece of art I worked on for the actress Jena Malone. I contacted her and said I'd love to make some art for a musical project she was working on and she thought it would worth attempting.
And while she did like this drawing, she thought the band name 'JENA MALONE and HER BLOODSTAINS' was a bit too obscured. I would have to agree. Since this drawing was more of a prototype, it was never meant to be used for anything.
I've since lost touch with her, but who knows, someday something might come about.

Malone's first photo was taken in my mom's front yard during his first visit to the house where I grew up in Montana. He is enjoying meeting all of my mom's side of the family, especially the cat. He has been scared of every other cat he's met!
Photographing a white dog on snow is not easy. We had to add in my old scarf for a pop of color. I'm bummed I cut the tip of his black ear off, but it was about 16*F outside and he just can't handle that kind of cold for very long.

A short walk from the Grand Ile. I was only in for a quick drink on this trip, when things weren't too busy - most of the punters were on the terrasse, making the most of the summer. (I was in once on a winter trip, about 10 yeras back - the place was absolutley jammed then).
Nice bar, with friendly barstaff and would definitely return.
Malone Texas has historically been a railroad town that served the local farming and ranching community. The Town got its start iin 1884 or 85 when settler Alonzo Dru Walling, planned a townsite and modestly named it after himself. With the anticipated arrival of the International-Great Northern Railroad, the town moved two miles to the east in 1902. The following year the Trinity and Brazos Valley Railway created an east-west route to intersect with the I-GN tracks at Walling.
William Malone, president of the I-GN wasn't happy with a competing railroad but Alonzo Walling sold him on the potential of a two-railroad crossroad town. To help sell the idea the town was renamed after Malone. Investors platted the town and lots were auctioned off in December of 1903. Officials of both railroads received a percentage of revenues and the T&BV built a depot.
Malone started with an instant population of 125 from the day of the auction. A post office opened the same year and A. D. Walling, clever man that he was, sued the I-GN to build a second depot and schedule regular stops at Malone. The former town of Walling declined in proportion to Malone's growth but if Alonzo Walling felt sad about his namesake town, he made up for it by owning most commercial properties in Malone.
The townbegan to thrive. By 1913 there were as many as eight grocery stores operating in Malone and in the 1920s the population had grown to 550. Even during the Great Depression, Malone's decline was slight when compared to other regional towns. In 1936 Malone still maintained a population of 481.
After WWII there were still 429 people but in the 50s time caught up with Malone and the population fell to 352 residents served by a mere 12 businesses. Today it maitains a population near 300 and its businesses are mostly related to agriculture. The townâs name is still proudly displayed on the water tower.

The Molly Malone statue is located in Suffolk Street, a short distance from Trinity College. Molly Malone was a semi historical, semi-legendary figure who was commemorated in the song 'Cockles and Mussels', a Dublin anthem.
As well as being known and sung internationally, the popular song 'Cockles and Mussels' has become a sort of unofficial anthem of Dublin city. The song's tragic heroine Molly Malone and her barrow have come to stand as one of the most familiar symbols of the capital.
