Gelede zesasser 200 rijdt hier met bijwagen 662 door de Trg Marka Marulića in de richting van het hoofdspoorstation van de Zagreb.
De stad was in 1990 de hoofdstad van de Socialistische Republiek Kroatië die op dat moment nog deel uit maakte van Joegoslavië. Op de dag nauwkeurig een jaar na het maken van de dia riep Kroatië op 25 juni 1991 de onafhankelijkheid uit en werd een soevereine staat. Dat was de directe aanleiding voor de Tiendaagse Oorlog die het begin vormde voor de Joegoslavische Burgeroorlog. Van die gebeurtenissen was op de zonovergoten zomerdag in 1990 echter nog niets te merken.
Tram 200 was een in 1966 door Đuro Đaković geleverd prototype. De draaistellen waren van het Italiaanse fabrikaat Breda en het Duitse Kiepe had deel van de elektrische installatie geleverd. De tram met zowel West-Europese als oostblok invloeden staat daarmee symbool voor het op de scheidsijn van twee systemen gevestigde Joegoslavië.
De Tramway Zglobna Kola (gelede tram) werd niet gevolgd door een serie. In 1990 zag de wagen er net als de overige trams in Zagreb onberispelijk uit. Qua onderhoudstoestand en kleurstelling deden de trams denken aan het goed onderhouden wagenpark van Zürich. Toch zou de gelede eenling nog slechts twee jaar dienst doen. In 1992 werd de elegante wagen gesloopt.

The afternoon Talgo service passing through one of the amazing viaducts in Tarčin on a hot summer afternoon. The train passes through this stunnig area just twenty minutes after leaving Sarajevo central station. From here, the train will call at Konijc and Jablanica following the Neretva river until Mostar and the end station of Čapljina in Herzegovina.

► █░▓ This was to be my first snapshot of the year, but it ended up (almost) as a reject. I failed with the focusing... this is one example to when the much praised manual focus clutch of the popular expensive zoom does NOT come handy. It is early morning, January the 1st, the camera lies still crammed and switched off in the bag, the hands are cold, the lens cap on and the lens hood off. The ladies are steadily approaching the church entrance. I nearly made it but the clutch remained in the manual position so the AF pressed didn't work.
But these ladies do deserve the credit for the poise so I decided to publish this image in spite of being out-of-focus. The unachieved resolution I leave to your imagination.
Despite the partying last night, the morning service attendance was high. What a treat, what a joy!

⛄The best way to start this year was to meet the best of Montenegro at the doorstep of Lord's Transfiguration Church in Žabljak, the air permeated by the sunflakes gently sparkling before the eye throughout the vast expanses of this high mountain.
And I exactly made it!

► █░▓ Shooting after sunset can be very challenging, especially to small sensor camera owners. But the scenery sometimes does not allow the second chance. That's why I shot this, fully aware it lacks contrast, color, semi-tones etc. But this is how the first day of the last month of last year ended.
Panasonic DMC-G80 with Olympus 40-150mm f/4-5.6 lens stopped down to f/5.6 at its widest (the shortest end). Handheld. Without the excellent G80's IBIS, at 1/100 sec. this image would have been blurred and meant nothing. Olympus lens has no stabilization itself. I'll see to upload the FD version some time soon for the detail.
Out-of-the-camera jpeg, slightly edited in IrfanView 4.54 - this ultimate viewing software defies and redefines the boundaries of the flawed platform I've been using it on. It isn't replacement for the Photoshop, Luminar, Corel Photo Paint, Affinity, Lightroom or Capture One. But it takes up a negligible fraction of your resources compared to the hardware hungry aforementioned elephants, and other viewing software, it's rock stable, it's fast even on the old machines and ergonomically it's almost perfect. I've been using it for two decades now on countless many machines and all the platforms since XP that have passed the PC revue, and I honestly don't remember that IrfanView has failed me ONE SINGLE TIME.

► █░▓ It has taken quite some time throughout an extremely fine October and a very dry November (2019) to finish a stretch of mere few hundred meters of this asphalt road. It is connecting Kovačka dolina and Pitomine to the town (seen here). Perhaps the amount of time was really necessary to come up with such an unique sidewalk design as this one. Populated by the lamp poles, it is clearly meant for the heavy drunkards amongst us who need the posts on their way to home after the party has been called quits.
Another novelty is that there is no roadside, which used to be an integral part of the road concept before. But why not make the road extra wide instead? At expense of the roadside. Sounds logical. Every user shall appreciate that. If not for the more surface to his avail, than for the lack of litter usually spread over the wayside. The proposition "no wayside, no litter" seems a fair idea!

27-september-2018: in the background the Island of Goli (Goli Otok; "Isola Calva" in Italian, a former prison-island for political prisoners under the Yugoslavia/Jugoslavija of Tito) and the majestic Northern Velebit Mountain Chain (NP Sjeverni Velebit, top: Mali Rajinac, 1699m a.s.l.; Croatian Maritime Dinaric Alps) that, as a whole, uninterrupted with Central and Southern Velebit, Vaganski Vrh (Velebit chain Top, 1757m a.s.l.) , is the longest in the State (Northern and Central Croatian Adriatic Sea).

I'm stampolina and I love to take photos of stamps. Thanks for visiting this pages on flickr.
I'm neither a typical collector of stamps, nor a stamp dealer. I'm only a stamp photograph. I'm fascinated of the fine close-up structures which are hidden in this small stamp-pictures. Please don't ask of the worth of these stamps - the most ones have a worth of a few cents or still less.
By the way, I wanna say thank you to all flickr users who have sent me stamps! Great! Thank you! Someone sent me 3 or 5 stamps, another one sent me more than 20 stamps in a letter. It's everytime a great surprise for me and I'm everytime happy to get letters with stamps inside from you!

P.s. Vlado Bagat = was a Croatian political worker, an anti-fascist fighter and a national hero of Yugoslavia, he was killed in the ambush on the Olib island in 1944 by German soldiers.
