At the left hand side of the shore is the remains of an old quay from where a ferry used to service a nearby Inn at Barnabuck. Age unspecified however it's listed in estate records of 1758.

Just a tiny one!

A palm tree in the Inner Hebrides? Who are they trying to kid?

This young red grouse chick was with its mother and siblings, trying to stay safe from the circling skuas. Although it's not a natural looking background it makes the chick stand out, unlike the heather where it is well camouflaged and hidden.
