The Lion Tree (Acacia lionensis). This fruiting acacia produces fresh juicy lions year round. The fruit mature into lions of different flavors: lemon lions, lime lions, and lions with lilac. They can be found throughout the northern Serengeti. You can locate them by their typical purring sound. The occasional roar can startle those who are not accustomed to the lion tree. Lion trees typically drop their fruits in the evening along with the drop in temperatures. You may hear a loud "thump." Thump, thump, roar snarl as the saying goes. The trees can seem somewhat aloof when their cats stare off in different directions, with no evidence of any care or concern. But then that's what lions do. Beware when walking below a lion tree! There are likely lions there! They may reach out and give you a scratch. Don't scratch! Lions love gravy, so don't be concerned if you hear or smell them preparing gravy in the tree. Lion trees tend to keep their leaves. The hate giving up anything. Even the lions! The lions in lion trees love laying around but they don't lie. Lion trees favor gazelle and lions always tell the truth. Lions are big cats! Imagine that! Silly lions! #ILoveNature #ILoveWildlife #ILoveAnimals #ILoveAfrica #ILoveTanzania #Lions #Serengeti #Canon

How many of you remember the days of black and white TV? My kids looks at me like I have two heads when I talk about it, but it wasn't that long ago. Two yellow-billed oxpeckers sit on the back of a zebra (an adult, left and immature, right). Oxpeckers a mix of blessing and a curse to many large animals of the Serengeti. They consume arthropods, like ticks, and in doing so relieve these animals of pests. Unfortunately, they will also eat the blood and pick at the wounds after insects and arthropods have been removed, sometimes adding insult to injury, and leading to infections. It would appear, however, that their effects are predominantly beneficial to most animals that harbor them. #ILoveWildife #ILoveAnimals #ILoveAfrica #WildlifePhotography in #Tanzania

Awww, he looks so cute! I just came across this sheep munching on grass around my house. Having lived in the neighborhood for 5 yrs I've never seen these guys around. Today's also my first time seeing a sheep in real life! But I have to be careful with him because he kept eyeing my gardenxD. Excuse me, Mr. Sheep, but my garden is off limits.
