NEW YORK -- Sgt. Jon McDonald, machine gunner with 2nd Battalion, 25th Marines, reenlisted in the Marine Corps on the Brooklyn Bridge, Aug. 5. He watched the attacks of Sept 11th from his high school class room, and now as a veteran of multiple combat deployments and a New Yorker he wanted to pay tribute to the changed city skyline by reenlisting here, where the new World Trade Center building construction can be viewed, he said. Along with a new, two year commitment to the Marine Corps, McDonald will move to California and deploy to Afghanistan in the coming months. "I love the Marine Corps, I love the camaraderie we have. The more I thought about it the more I realized leaving wasn't a possibility for me. I picture myself as always being a United States Marine," said McDonald. (Marine Corps photo by Sgt. Randall. A.
