Tower of terror edited by my daughter.

This 500 piece puzzle should keep us busy for a while. It will be the perfect project for this chilly weekend.

This is the look on my sons faces when I say it's time to go in. And I don't blame them. Around 8:30 the heat has subdued and the cool evening sets in. The skies are lit with a peach and plum glow. There is just enough light that begs one to stay outdoors. I often let my little ones play outside until the light has completely vanished and then we reluctantly go inside. Sometimes we stay out and watch the stars turn on one by one like twinkling lights across the sky, Summer evenings are my favorite part of summer. It's a time to reflect in the refreshing coolness of the evening from the feverish craze of the day. It reminds me of catching a fever when I was kid and my Mom would come and gently touch my forehead to gauge my temperature. Her hands were cool and comforting against my hot head and I could safely drift asleep. Summer evenings are the same way, a time to reflect and let the anxieties of the day softy fade away. How do you find yourself enjoying the Summer? I hope you all are well and having a great summer so far!!:)

For the first time in at least 6 years I got to face this wonderful sight..... I had dreams of a 330 game and started with a beautiful strike and then the wheels fell off :-) and finished this game with 130 and game 2 on 135. Had great fun and definitely wont leave it so long to play next time.

Happy Weekend Flickr Friends ..

Brightened up and colourcast removed in luminar 4, frame added in ribbet.

Before heading out on the walk with Scott and Sock this afternoon I managed to snap a few shots of Fyero while she was watching out the window.

I like the way the tulips frame her and pop some colour into the photo so I'm going with it.

I did manage a couple bird photos while I was out walking but this shot just stands out a little more to me.

Hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy.

Heard about these three Great Horned Owl chicks and was lucky enough to actually see and photograph them.

They’re hanging out waiting for mom!

Our bread sticks entry into a Zoom conference meeting with the family in different locations. Everyone had to show their bread made today. #FamilyTime,,. in Lockdown

Back to watching for the pigeons today; he did manage to bonk his head twice trying to get to the birds, so at east he's having... fun?

Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.

We had to wait our turn to snag a shot in this spot; seems like everyone and their dog was out on this lovely autumn day to snag a few family photos.

Can't blame them, it's a gorgeous location and we were happy to snag a shot or two ourselves.

Hope everyone has had a good day.

Have Beautiful Day Friends

I love the textures of wooden boardwalks, and this kilometer long boardwalk through the Mer Bleue bog in Ottawa was a perfect location to combine narrow depth of field, diminishing perspective, and golden hour light to turn something simple into something special. I'm very fond of the bokeh transition on the new Canon 35L II, and this shot shows why. Thanks to Jason Crabb for the title.

Technical info: Canon EOS 6D, Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L II USM, Processed in Adobe Lightroom CC, Adobe Photoshop CC, and Alien Skin Exposure X (Use Code "dustinabbott" to get 10% anything and everything)

A very special day - a family wedding day

We've been married since 5 November 2020 and always celebrate the 5th of the month a little, simply because on this date we always remember how beautifully everything started and how well we're doing together. This time it wasn't supposed to be a fancy dinner, but a family day for the three of us. And so we set off on a trip into the countryside, completely relaxed, with lots of love in our luggage.

Liv, our little explorer, was curious and full of energy as always. As soon as we were lying together in the grass in the meadow and she climbed over us, it was clear: this was going to be a wonderful day. The sun painted patterns through the trees and we just let ourselves drift along - in our little family happiness.

It was particularly exciting for Liv when she met a cow for the first time in her life. After the experience with the horses in the paddock next to the cat cafe in Jormundgandr, this was something completely new and that was new. First hesitantly, then bravely, and finally with a smile that could hardly be bigger, she dared to come very close. We couldn't get enough of watching her reactions. This moment was so full of wonder and joy - a real centrepiece of our day.

After this little adventure, we continued on to a cute little café. As we sipped ice cream and Liv played peekaboo on Dad's shoulders, everything just felt right. Love, laughter, life.

Between lying on the grass, taking snapshots, watching animals, and enjoying ice cream at a sidewalk café, it was a perfect day. No glamour, no plan—just love, nature, and pure happiness. 🌿🍦

A new family in our garden. You can hear the youngsters chirping away when mum or dad come back with a juicy treat

No swimming pool? No problem. A rain barrel will do just fine out on the ranch. Father, son, and grandson taking a break from the Oklahoma heat.

This photo received a National Geographic Editor's Favorite.

I was out at the duck pond today. There were a few geese and ducks with their families. Some were a little more accommodating than others. The little ones seem to be mirroring each other.

A game of Crokinole on a Tracey board.

my sister, brother in law, and our children

Mom wanted an updated family photo of us... it did not go as planned and honestly, that's probably for the best.

We didn't get a nicely posed shot of the four of us looking at the camera, but we did get quite a few outtakes and Fyero got a lot of treats.

So win-win?

Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.
