Happy New Year! Couldn't sleep in and miss the sunrise so I decided to quietly celebrate by myself on my sleepy circle. Sorry for posting a few images today, I normally limit myself to one but I could not resist! I am rolling into another year of my 365 commitment though I think I am going to set some extra challenges for myself. Thank you for stopping by and celebrating with me.

I've always enjoyed plucking a Dandelion puff from the ground and watching the seeds fly through the air. However, after recently observing a small red House Finch in my garden, I'm ready to change my ways.

A tall Dandelion was waving gently in the breeze when suddenly the House Finch landed on the ground, holding the stem firmly in place. For the next several minutes I watched the tiny bird feast on the seeds.

I love those times that I learn new things by slowing down and really studying the world around me.

I went hiking this afternoon to get the high angle view of Taipei 101 with CNY celebrating wordings. The blue hour tone was a great one.

今天爬上九五峰,想用長鏡頭拍特寫,但是色溫還蠻美的,就用三張直幅接一下囉!

Thank goodness for sunshine.....or as the comedian/author, Steve Martin says, "A day without sunshine is like, you know, night. "

Reset my settings here to capture the fireworks that some folks were setting off along the river as the Christmas Parade of boats headed down Middle River. Liked the result as well with the 2 seconds on the boat movement with all the lights.

Just wanna thank you all, my flickr friends, for all your constant appreciation.. and continued friendship..

Let me celebrate with you my 20,000+ visits on my stream!

God bless you, everyone!

As already mentioned, today I'm taking a little timeout to celebrate one million views and to recap my progress in the last nine months on Flickr. In the previous shot I re-edited my first ever posting, and in this one I am re-editing some of my New Year's fireworks shots.

The image here is a multiple exposure of three separate fireworks shots. It was a matter of working out which shots best fitted together to create an artistically pleasing display.

After a couple of tough weeks I can say Life is a fstvl. Fstvl is one of my favorite clothing brands.

This is a shot from Vesterøy in Hvaler islands. Celebrating our 17 years of marriage and being together for 30 years. Watching the sunset together was a great way spending the evening :)

...and may His blessings be with you and your family throughout the coming New Year!

Happy Canada Day!

"This special holiday celebrates the anniversary of the July 1, 1867, enactment of the Constitution Act, 1867 (then called the British North America Act, 1867), which united the three separate colonies of Canada, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick into a single Dominion within the British Empire called Canada. The origin of the name "Canada" comes from the expedition of explorer Jacques Cartier up the St. Lawrence River in 1535. The Iroquois pointing out the route to the village of Stadacona, the future site of Quebec City, used the word "kanata," the Huron-Iroquois word for village."

I never thought about how Brussels sprouts grew until I walked into the grocery store a couple months ago and found a barrel full of stalks of Brussels sprouts. Of course I had to buy a few to take photos of ;-).

Hibiscus holds a special place in spiritual practices. In many cultures, hibiscus flowers symbolize feminine energy, love, and passion. They are often used in ceremonies and rituals to invoke these qualities.

When you see mums and squash it's definitely fall time! This was an outdoor display at The Leaf which is a horticultural attraction here in Winnipeg.

Thank you for taking the time to view this image and for leaving me a comment! Have a wonderful day!

Nik and Topaz filters applied. This is not the community pool I shot through a chain link fence; this one has the vertical iron fencing you see in the background. My little 60 mm lens fit right in the space between the bars :)

The largest fireworks display in the Midwest blasted off in Columbus during the blue hour. That cast a nice soft light over a lone island on the river which turned into a party of kayakers.

Originally opened in 1971, the Disney World monorail system is one of the most heavily used monorails in the world. The original 2 routes have now expanded to 3, and the mark vi trains have been in use since 1989. Taken during Disney’s 50th anniversary celebration, offering me this unique opportunity to photograph the monorail with the festive topiaries.
