Sunset colors bathe the smooth waters of the Atlantic Ocean. The exposed rocks along the Maine shoreline looked amazing there in that lighting.

The San Francisco Bay Bridge is gorgeous at night, illuminated by 25,000 individual white LEDs lights that change patterns. This is the view from the Ferry Plaza.

I processed a balanced HDR photo from a single RAW exposure.

Slightly new technique. Don't really know how effective it is!

When my GPS got lost it looped to this side road for just a mile to turn me back to the correct route. This place was there ... maybe the GPS is smarter than I think. (maybe GPS means great photo scenes)

PS: Happy WIndmill Wednesday - how could I forget?

Encountered on our evening walk. A truly marvelous sculpture.

Je voulais donner à ce cliché un côté vieux peplum...

I came across this amazingly ornate bronze lift in the Museum of London. This lift was one of several installed in Selfridges department store in 1928. The interior metal panels depicting cranes and known as Les Cigognes d'Alsace were designed by Edgar William Brandt (1886-1960). The metalwork of the exterior screens with figures representing the signs of the zodiac was made by the Birmingham Guild of Metalworker and incorporate the work of Walter Gilbert and his assistant Louis Weingartner, formerly of the Bromsgrove Guild of Metalworkers. - See more at:

I've always loved lomo. Can't do it myself so I tried Dumpr's version. I like.

In some [photographs] the essence of light and space dominate; in others, the substance of rock and wood, and the luminous insistence of growing things....It is my intention to present — through the medium of photography — intuitive observations of the natural world which may have meaning to spectators...

I went for a walk this afternoon to Snipe Dales, Lincs. The weather was gorgeous, with warm autumn sunlight. The trees didn't have much colour - but the bracken did!
