Located in a grotty part of town and a 5 minute walk from where I live. I know the pond well as I walk past it every day on the way to work and often take the kids down to feed the ducks. Never thought to take a photo before as it is so familiar and not my usual subject. It just goes to show that sometimes it's easy to take your local/familiar locations for granted which are often beautiful.
Bourne Mill in Colchester is a picturesque watermill with a working waterwheel set in tranquil grounds, next to a millpond and babbling stream and owned by the National Trust.
The Mill is a grade 1 listed building steeped in history. It was built as a fishing lodge in 1591, converted to a fulling mill around 1640 and then converted to a corn mill in about 1840, which continued working until the 1930s.
Heather Blooms at Bourrne Wood
This patch of heather is part of a much larger field located in Bourne, the area is quite secluded, like a hidden meadow in the southern part of the woodland area.
It was very beautiful!

The Bourne Wood is a location in Surrey, that is often used for filming Hollywood blockbusters. It is a gorgeous forest with a variety of habitats

Originally an Augustinian Abbey founded in 1138 it was dissolved in the first phase of Henry VIII's suppression of the monasteries in 1536 and converted into the towns parish church. The church retains much of its Norman architecture.
The small market town of Bourne is located in south Lincolnshire on the main road between Lincoln and Peterborough.
