Lynx rufus rufus (aka Bobcat). It is one of 2 lynx kittens noted to be roaming the 34,000 acres of Anahuac National Wildlife Preserve (not a zoo), Texas. Defining features: black ear tufts and a short, bobbed tail. This one looks like it may have been fishing.

Cincinnati, Ohio

Borgart's has been a popular Cincinnati music venue since the 1980s when the building was remodeled for local, national, and international live music. The venue holds approximately 1,500 people, has six bars, three levels for concert viewing, two entrances, and an elevated stage. It is currently operated by Live Nation Inc.

The building was originally built in 1890 as a vaudeville theater named the Nordland Plaza Nickelodeon and remained as such into the 1950's. During the mid-1950's, the name Nordland remained, but the venue switched to a German film theater. After that, the name changed to the Inner Circle, serving as a restaurant and entertainment venue before converting to a music venue in 1980.

The Clarington building next door takes up more than half the frame mainly because I thought it was also interesting architecture. The building was built in 1901 and most recently redeveloped into apartments by its current owner who purchased the building 2018. It must be fully rented because I couldn’t find the building description the property manager's page which I saw a month ago after I made the photo.

This photo is three blended exposures (-2,0,+2).

“I am looking for friends. What does that mean -- tame?"

"It is an act too often neglected," said the fox. "It means to establish ties."

"To establish ties?"

"Just that," said the fox. "To me, you are still nothing more than a little boy who is just like a hundred thousand other little boys. And I have no need of you. And you, on your part, have no need of me. To you I am nothing more than a fox like a hundred thousand other foxes. But if you tame me, then we shall need each other. To me, you will be unique in all the world. To you, I shall be unique in all the world...”

To the dog of so many nicknames.

My little buddy, a cloud disguised as a dog.

It's been 2 weeks now since you left, we miss you so very much.

Every time we come home, it's sad without you waiting at the door.

Every noise outside is immediately followed by the memory of your bark.

Our little guardian.

Thank you for being our first puppy, the perfect companion to our first ever dog.

We've always tried to keep up with you. You taught us everything.

Thank you for 10 years and almost 9 months of love and laughter.

No more medicines now and cones of shame.

Run free, and play, and lick everything.

Until we meet again.

BOGART: “Daddy! Daddy do you like my outfit?”

DADDY: “Oh yes I do, Bogart! Have you been playing in the dress-ups box?”

BOGART: “Well… yes and no.” *Blushes pink beneath fluffy white plush.*

DADDY: “What do you mean, ‘yes and no’, little Bogart?”

BOGART: “Well, the gold crown came from the dress-ups prop and costume box.”

DADDY: “And the fur?”

BOGART: “Well, I borrowed that from your… your…”

DADDY: “Yes? My what, Bogart?”

BOGART: “Your wardrobe, Daddy?” *Winces.*

DADDY: “Ah, I thought I recognised that Marmot fur.”

BOGART: “It does suit me, doesn’t it?” *Spins around.*

DADDY: *Sighs.* “Yes little Bogart, you look very regal.”

BOGART: “Oh thank you, Daddy!” *Smiles.* “Do you think you might take my picture to send to Mama Kim and the Riversong and Lagniappe Bear Clans?”

DADDY: “I don’t see why not Bogart. Smile and say ‘royalty’!”

BOGART: “Royalty!”

The theme for “Looking Close on Friday” for the 30th of April is “fluffy”. When I thought of the theme, I immediately thought of my fluffy soft bear family. Bogart has particularly fluffy fur, and my vintage Marmot fur cape is also particularly fluffy. Therefore, putting them together seemed to be the only logical choice. I hope that you think so too, and that this photograph makes you smile!

Bogart has only arrived to live with me in the last few months. He has travelled all the way from Georgia, via Alabama as a gift to me from a friend. I can already say that he has lovely Southern manners and seems to be a fun and gentle soul with an inquisitive nature which sometimes gets him into difficulties, particularly if it involves climbing trees!

this ones kind of dark, but I love the deep greens, the canopy of tree limbs & Bogart in silhouette.

Beloved boy with still do nearly anything for a treat.

PADDY: “Scout! Bogart! Rosie!” *Looks around.* “Where are you?”

SCOUT: “Paddy! Paddy!” *Distant.*

*BEEP! BEEP!*

PADDY: “Scout! Scout is that you?”

SCOUT: “Yes! It’s me!” *BEEP! BEEP!* “Rosie, Bogart and me!” *BEEP! BEEP!* “We’re over here!”

PADDY: “Where?”

SCOUT: “Follow the sound of the horn, Paddy! Come and see!” *BEEP! BEEEEP!*

PADDY: *Follows sound of horn honking down the footpath.* “Goodness Scout! You’re in a camper van!”

SCOUT: “Hullo Paddy!” *Leans out of window. And waves enthusiastically.* “I know! And look! It’s pink! My favourite colour! Isn’t it glamorous?” *Strokes camper van’s door lovingly with paw.*

PADDY: “Goodness yes, Scout! It’s very striking!”

BOGART: “And it’s American too!” *Smiles.*

PADDY: “Oh! Hullo Bogart!” *Waves to Bogart.*

BOGART: “Hullo Paddy!” *Waves to Paddy from the passenger seat.*

PADDY: “How do you know its American, Bogart?”

BOGART: “Because the driver sits on the left-hand side!”

SCOUT: *Beeps horn. BEEP! BEEP!*

BOGART: “It’s very comfortable in here.” *Shuffles bottom on seat.*

PADDY: “But where did the campervan come from, Scout and Bogart?”

SCOUT: “Well, since your magic didn’t turn my pumpkin into a Scoutarella coach, Paddy...”

PADDY: “Well, I never actually said I had any magic, Scout.”

SCOUT: “Well, evidently the faeries were listening and they took pity on me, and provided this wonderful pink camper van for us. It was just sitting here under the tree, waiting to be driven.”

PADDY: “But Scout! You don’t know how to drive!” *Alarmed.*

SCOUT: *Oh Paddy!” *Giggles.* “Don’t worry! I will get some help from Daddy. I’ll tell him where to direct the camper van, and he can push it!”

BOGART: “That way we get the best of both worlds, Paddy! We can feel like we are driving, whilst being driven.” *Giggles.* "Think of it like an auto-pilot."

SCOUT: “Why don’t you get in the back with Rosie, Paddy? She is exploring the living areas of the camper van. Apparently, there is a stove, and even a refrigerator!”

BOGART: “Hopefully the faeries continue to provide, and there is food inside it! Grumbly tummy! Paddy! Grumbly tummy!” *Rubs tummy vigorously.*

SCOUT: “Grumbly tummy! Paddy! Grumbly tummy!” *Rubs tummy vigorously.*

Imagine the delight of Paddy, Scout, Bogart and Rosie when, whilst on a walk with me the other day, they came across a Barbie Dream Camper Van from 2017, left out on the footpath along with some other toys for anyone… or anybear to take! Recycling at its best!

My Paddington Bear came to live with me in London when I was two years old (many, many years ago). He was hand made by my Great Aunt and he has a chocolate coloured felt hat, the brim of which had to be pinned up by a safety pin to stop it getting in his eyes. The collar of his mackintosh is made of the same felt. He wears wellington boots made from the same red leather used to make the toggles on his mackintosh.

He has travelled with me across the world and he and I have had many adventures together over the years. He is a very precious member of my small family.

Scout was a gift to Paddy from my friend. He is a Fair Trade Bear hand knitted in Africa. His name comes from the shop my friend found him in: Scout House. He tells me that life was very different where he came from, and Paddy is helping introduce him to many new experiences. Scout catches on quickly, and has proven to be a cheeky, but very lovable member of our closely knit family.

Handsome no matter the color.

BOGART: "Daddy! Daddy!"

DADDY: "Yes little Bogart?"

BOGART: "Daddy, I need your help right now!"

DADDY: "Oh of course, Bogart. How can I help you?"

BOGART: "Well, you know about Fuzzy, my best bear friend from Canada who now lives with his cousin Oleg in Holland."

DADDY: "Yes, Bogart. Don't tell me that he is stuck in a sandpit somewhere too and needs a food parcel."

BOGART: *Scratches head.* "I don't think so Daddy, well not as he has told me anyway."

DADDY: "Well that's a relief! So how can I help you then."

BOGART: "Well, you see Daddy, Fuzzy sent me a picture of himself reflected in the mirror. He wanted me to have it so that I can always remember him, even when he is not here."

DADDY: "So you'd like me to print it off and put it in a frame for you?"

BOGART: "Oh! That would be lovely, Daddy! However that is not the help I am asking for."

DADDY: "Very well Bogart, what can I do?"

BOGART: "Well, Fuzzy asked if he could have a photo of me looking in a mirror in return. Could to take a picture Daddy? I know how good you are at taking photos. You can capture my good side."

DADDY: "Oh what a lovely idea. I'm so glad that you are best friends with such a good little bear such as Fuzzy is, and you are being a very good best friend back in return. Let's go, Bogart!"

BOGART: "Oh thank you Daddy!"

DADDY: *Fetches a looking glass.*

BOGART: "Oh my Daddy! What a pretty mirror!" *Awestruck.* "It's all golden like the wicked queen's magic mirror in Snow White!"

DADDY: "This is my Grandmother's looking glass, so it is very precious, although it doesn't speak like the magic mirror in Snow White."

BOGART: "Well, I'm rather glad about that, Daddy! I don't think I'd like my mirror to talk back, even if it did only have nice things to say."

DADDY: "I agree, Bogart. Now. I'm ready. Say 'grumbly tummy'!"

BOGART: *Grumbly tummy!"

*Camera snaps and whirrs.*

My bears Paddy, Scout, Bogart and Jago have made very good friends with four bears in Holland called Peter, Oleg, Benny and Fuzzy www.flickr.com/photos/40262251@N03/galleries/721577154558... and their Mummy www.flickr.com/photos/66094586@N06/. Fuzzy www.flickr.com/photos/40262251@N03/galleries/721577204013... is Bogart's best friend. Fuzzy moved from Canada to live with his cousin Oleg after the dangerous bushfires in Canada. Fuzzy became homesick, and Bogart understands that feeling coming from America, so the two have become best friends to help each other not feel so homesick. Fuzzy gave Scout a picture of himself as a gift which you can see here: www.flickr.com/photos/66094586@N06/51857859181/ or in the first comment below, and now Bogart is being Fuzzy's best friend as he should, and is returning the favour!

A special thanks to:

- Gian Luca a.k.a. Lebeg for the face (and the smile).

- Alessndro a.k.a. Stranju for his panama hat.

- Maurizio a.k.a. VYNO for the location.

The audience was referred to as pluage rats.. the thing I dont understand is that the last out break of the Pluage was in the 1770's in France, she is trying to carry a Victorian theme. Lets hope most of her Pluage Rats are not really nerdy history buffs.

Bogarts Dec 5th- Emilie Autumn

For Mike and Alvaro (flickr: -MJP- and Bluebelier) who reminded me I have not taken a reflection yet. Thanks, gentlemen!

It is amazing what you can find in your town when you look.

Bogarts Dec 5th- Emilie Autumn

R675 is seen working hard through Bogart, GA after assaulting Bogart Hill. Up, down, up, and back down behind me. This section of the Abbeville can be quite fun to shoot.

I wanted to take some photos alone with Bogart, but Bogart wasn't keen on the idea. Maybe I'll be able to convince him posing means treats. He just didn't understand the concept. I was behind the camera, but instead of tossing him treats, I would hit the button and then plop down next to him. What's a dog to do? Made no sense to him. May I also mention that composition ended up a challenge, too, as Bogart didn't quite want stay in the original pose. Oh well. I'll try again someday. Maybe with a functional remote, too.

If you please

I have never randomly stopped by the side the road to take a photo of Bogart. There's always a first, isn't there.
