D-ABOD is taxiing past the viewing terrace for a late afternoon departure from runway 07. At the end of its career, D-ABOD would once again return to Riem in March 1976 painted as Air Force One on the port side for a movie.
First flight 5 April 1960 and delivered to Lufthansa on 24 April 1960 (baptised "Frankfurt" in Frankfurt on 16 September 1960). Last scheduled flight and wfu on 30 April 1975. Preserved at Hamburg airport (wearing fake registrations D-ABOB and D-AFHG) used as a ground traner(and occasional movie prop) from 1976 until broken up in June 2021. Individual parts were auctioned off, and the cockpit will be preserved in Sweden.

One of the most strangest tests which Leyland subjected any of the prototype Leyland National buses to, was in the photograph showing B705 BTJ 857J going through a bus wash. The location is believed to be Ribble's Frenchwood depot in Preston. One test which Leyland never considered was B705 going into service with an operator for a few weeks. B705 was the only prototype fully trimmed out thus it was the only prototype suitable for this type of testing to be conducted.
Photograph credit: British Leyland Truck & Bus Division/Basil Hancock
Leyland built seven prototype Leyland National buses B701-B707:-
B701 11-metre bus fitted with dual doorways and registered XTC 351H
B702 11-metre bus fitted with dual doorways, originally fitted with a naturally aspirated Leyland 500 engine
B703 10-metre bus fitted with dual doorways
B704 was built as a running underframe with additional supporting structure as the underframe was not self-supporting. It was fitted with an uprated 230bhp Leyland 500 engine.
B705 built to 11.3-metre length again fitted with dual doorways and fully fitted out and registered BTJ 857J
B706 was another 11.3-metre bus with dual doorways and fitted with the optional ZF 2HP45 fully automatic gearbox. B706 was later used for early B44 (National 2) development.
B707 was built from production drawings and was a 11.3-metre bus fitted with a single doorway

CSXT train B704-6 is heading south on the Herbert Sub in Maryland after a snowfall during the night before. This is a "syn fuel" train from the Morgantown Power Plant where the coal was "treated" with a spray. The train is headed to the Chalk Point power plant where the coal will be burned to generate electricity. The road is Gallant Green Road.
