i like this one, for a variety of reasons. i was very torn between positng this one, and the same one rotated 90 degrees. the other one is very good as the eyes are larger and a bit more compelling, but i think this angle lends it better to the original idea behind the composition (especially in terms of the bottles reflections, which aren't realy noticeable --or at the least the eye doesn't notice them--in the horizontal).

pretty much unedited, save some glow, and making it a bit cooler, as the lights and no flash and bad white balance made for a very warm photo.

Taken at my friend's apartment in crystal city/arlington. It was a bit hard to take, as she has the "move star" lightbulbs around her giant sink/vanity--I had to shove the camera up between two of the bulbs in order to get the reflection.

I'm moving into my own SWEET place on the first in DC. This shall be exciting, seeing as I'll be off couches and air mattresses. My internship is excellent, though. I'm very happy here.

The Blue Wall #1

I. absolutely. love. my. new. red. hoodie. Red is my favorite color, so once I saw this hoodie at American Apparel, I knew it was mine. I've been running lately, and my legs hurt like hell as proof. I need to brush up on my photoshopping skillz (wall). Anyways, I like my pose. Tis all.

Lower Broadway, Aug 2008 - 04

This was taken from the north side of Broadway at Howard Street, looking south; I thought the young woman made an interesting silhouette as she sat by herself.

I had to look, back and forth, several times at this picture and the previous one, to convince myself that it really is the same young woman. The couple previously sitting to her left has disappeared, and the lower background immediately behind her doesn't really look quite the same. But the other details -- shirt, haircut, purse, etc. -- are the same. And besides, I was there.

In any case, I think this is the more interesting of the two pictures.

Notwithstanding my own opinions on the topic, this photo was published in an April 8, 2009 blog titled "Woody Allen vs. American Apparel.." It was also published in a March 3, 2011 blog titled "Check out the upcoming Gender, Sexuality, and Urban Spaces Conference Mar. 11-13!"

Moving into 2012, the photo was published in an Oct 24, 2012 blog titled "American Apparel opens biggest international store in Beijing." It was also published in an undated (late Oct 2012) blog titled "17 Interesting Pictures of Billboards."

Moving into 2014, the photo was published in a May 18, 2014 blog titled "Women in Three Dimensions."

Moving into 2015, the photo was published in a Feb 23, 2015 blog titled "THE PROBLEM WITH SEXUAL INEQUALITY AT EVERY LEVEL."

**********************************

On a bright, sunny Wednesday afternoon, I ventured down to 23rd Street and 6th Avenue to drop off my laptop computer for a repair job. Afterwards, I thought I would walk over to Broadway and stroll up the street to see if I could find some interesting pictures; and then I got the crazy idea to take a cab down to the very end of Broadway -- near the Staten Island Ferry -- and walk all the way up Broadway to my neighborhood on 96th Street.

But then I decided that Broadway probably wouldn't be very interesting until I reached Canal Street ... so I had the cab-driver drop me off there, and began my walk northward. Who knows how far I would have gotten if I hadn't been distracted by a lively farmer's market in Union Square -- on 14th Street? Anyway, there's much more of Broadway to cover, and if I have the time and energy over the next few months, perhaps I will cover the entire length of this longest street in New York City, which extends all the way through Manhattan, Bronx, and into Yonkers...

get my fashion-ish portfolio together so i can start shooting test shoots for agencies.

i don't know why i've been wanting so badly to do a shoot with this bodysuit and rainboots.

i'm wearing a cream bodysuit under a lace one. just to clarify.

Just got back from Thailand so pretty jet lagged, but wanted to upload something from the Lavender shoot out with the lovely Miss Aniela, Sarah Schloo, Nizaad and Sharon Cooper. Have SO much work to get through, lots of images from this shoot, and a couple of interesting shots from Thailand too.

Inspired partly by the wonderful work of Guy Bourdin.

Huge thanks to Sarah for organising the day, Sharon for her location knowledge, and the wonderful models.
