I have been going to Elk Island NP so much recently that I have neglected the park just a few blocks from home, and noticed the other evening that there was some nice golden light happening, so I hoofed it to the park. A composition that I have shot many times before, but I never seem to tire of it, in any season, especially when shot under interesting light.
Northern Pacific's unique piece of equipment that hauled a lot of pork on the hoof to slaughter in the Seattle area.
Armour had a sizeable buying station just west of Mandan, ND where farmers could sell their animals and these cars were used for the trip west.
Double deck Big Palace fleet was retired and stored on the south side of the yard.

The park lies in a rift valley that marks the crest of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge and the boundary between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Golden Circle
We were supposed to be on our big trip to CA & OR right now. Obviously, all that changed with the pandemic and now all the riots. We would have been in Yosemite NP on Sunday evening, today and tomorrow. So these pictues from a YNP calendar will have to do for now.
Six years ago we were fortunate to spend the July 4th holiday in this spectacular NP. No better way to celebrate what started it all back in 1776.
BNSF 8893 takes L-MON2021 under the former Northern Pacific cantilever at east end Big Timber, with a short train for Bozeman.
This smaller geyser sprung up when we waiting for Old Faithful. There are several other geysers other than Old Faithful here. I believe this one is called Beehive Geyser because of it's shape.

The glaciers of the national park are of scientific importance, as they now mark the retreat of a smaller ice age 4000 years ago.
When Captain George Vancouver explored the region in 1794, the bay was almost completely filled with ice from the glaciers. Several kilometers wide, over 1000 m high.
Holy water in Mission Espada which is part of the Mission Trail National Park in San Antonio, Texas. It was relocated here in 1731 from east Texas where it was established in 1690.San Antonio Missions Trail is five missions connected by the San Antonio River. The trail is The San Antonio Missions National Historic Park. The 15 mile trail consists of bike, jogging and hiking paths with about 2 1/2 miles between each mission. Mission Concepcion is just one of the five missions. It was completed in 1731 and is a U.S. National Historic Landmark as are the other missions located on the trail. The Mission Alamo is also on this trail. The missions on this trail are a UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The five missions on the trail are Mission Concepcion, San Antonio de Valero ((Alamo), San Jose, San Francisco de la Espada, and San Juan. They were built by Spanish Colonial residents.
