Glastonbury Abbey Kitchens was a monastery in Glastonbury, Somerset, England. Its ruins, a grade I listed building and scheduled ancient monument, are open as a visitor attraction.

The abbey was founded in the 7th century and enlarged in the 10th. It was destroyed by a major fire in 1184, but subsequently rebuilt and by the 14th century was one of the richest and most powerful monasteries in England.

Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

I simply spotted this composition whilst driving along the road... I liked the evening glow on the fields and the Kitchener monument on the far hill just added a little interest... along with that wonderful sunset sky. Really just a simple shot... with a 3 stop ND grad filter.

For Macro Mondays Group - Paper Art

---------------------------------------------------------

I purchased this paper fan when I was in Japan years ago. The fan salon I purchased it from said this style of fan was a kitchen fan as it's small and more utilitarian than other styles of fans used in Japan. The art on the fan is exquisite. The section of fan photographed is 2" wide x 2.5" tall. HMM, everyone.

Yay! to all my US marching sisters!

They were going to see the Tiefling tomorrow and so Sorrel had been up all night cooking. Shepard's pie with extra nutmeg to protect against evil, Roast beef with figs to protect the one she loved even though he didn't seem to think there was any danger. She rolled her eyes. Of course there was danger, but she would manage it even if he was being foolishly laissez faire. And then she looked at her zucchini and corn bread and blushed even though no one was there to see. He probably wouldn't know its intent. Its meaning. It was just a sensible was to use up extra zucchini during the autumn glut. She picked out up and looked at it. The smirk that came to her face broke quickly into giggles before she put it back on the table and continued to knead the buttermilk and flour together, humming as she worked.

Apartment building in Salton City.

The Salton Sea was once a popular place for boating, swimming, fishing, etc., but an increase in the salt level of the water caused large numbers of fish to die and the water became foul. This, in addition to a couple of hurricanes in the 1970's, caused the communities surrounding the sea to deteriorate.
