37401 Mary Queen of Scots hauls 3J51, the East Yorkshire and Wolds coast RHTT up the steep climb from Hunmanby to Bempton near Reighton. This train sets out from York Works at 10:00 and runs out to Scarborough to reverse and head along the Wolds Coast line towards Hull. 37422 is the rear loco. 37401 has at this stage of the RHTT season replaced 37218 on this set which suffered severe wheel flats and a broken window. Saturday October the 15th 2022.
Eriothrix rufomaculata a nice spiky Tachinid fly feeding on Tansy at Hunmanby in North Yorkshire. Fairly common in UK.

This is my first Red Admiral of 2017 and it is a beauty. It is my 14th butterfly species of the year, so I am nicely placed for my target of 20.

A great furry spring hoverfly. Usually seen in March & early April. This is the first time I've seen one and because it was in my garden was extra special. Hunmanby, North Yorkshire.

Euleia heraclei (Celery fly). This is a tiny fly, about 5mm long. It's only when you get a close up image that the beauty of the wing pattern shows itself. They are quite common in the UK. This one was found on Cow Parsley at Hunmanby in North Yorkshire.

With storm babet causing chaos throughout the Midlands further North in East Yorkshire 37407 + 37419 continues on with 3J51 seen awaiting the signal to processed on the single line section between Bridlington and Hunmanby.
Work stained 37422 "Victorious" burbles away to itself at Bridlington on the Stainforth - Scarborough leg of 3J51 York circular, it was waiting for the 19.40 Sheffield unit to clear the single line section between here and Hunmanby.

Freightliner 66 951 working 6Y30 Hunmanby - Doncaster Up Decoy with a train of old Sleepers and Rail. Network Rail have been carrying out renovation works between Hunmanby and Seamer for the last two weekends meaning that there have been a number of Engineering trains passing the farm on their way back to Doncaster, perfect time to practise with the new drone.
