An early start, a dark foggy morning, and almost a wasted trip... But I managed to recover this with a bit of fiddling and diddling..!!
This was taken late one afternoon when we were returning to our hotel at the base of Clee Hill in Shropshire. As we drove up over the hill it was almost as though we were at the seaside, with a crisp bank of fog covering the countryside as far as the eye could see. Just the occasional tops of hills could be seen, giving the impression that they were islands in a flat calm sea.
Taken awhile ago but just came across this scan.
If I remember rightly its on Ilford SFX 200 with a red filter.
Taken from Titterstone Clee Hill , Shropshire, looking south west. Maybe Hergest Ridge etc, near Gladestry.

I had driven up the hill to use the VHF and Short wave radios in my car for an evening, when I saw this sun ray in the valley below, the great shame is I did not have my camera's with me only my phone :-(
Titterstone Clee Hill ,s a well know high spot for amateur radio use due to it's height and remoteness from interference found in all modern built up area's.

That is Christmas done for another year. Back to the archives of this years adventures. I liked this location so much that I went on two consecutive nights
It isn't easy to find a viewpoint which gives good views of both Clee Hills, but this seems to be one. To the left & in the distance: Titterstone Clee (533m high; 19.1 miles from viewpoint). To the right & in front of it: Brown Clee, the highest point in Shropshire (540m & 13.8 miles from viewpoint).
Four shots with Oly 300mm f4 lens, stitched.
From Dog in the Lane, near Little Wenlock, Shropshire.
A 600mm shot from Romsley in North Worcestershire to the "golf balls" on Clee Hill. These are radar and radio stations for the National Air Traffic Service. The distance to the radar dome from point of shooting is 22.73 miles!! 13-09-24
Abandoned and ruined building related to past quarrying activity. Superficially, it reminded me of the Forum in Rome!
