My windows and french doors need new covering badly. I am fresh out of ideas and was wondering what you guys would suggest. It's a rental so I can't actually change the windows even though I would love too.

if you want to be true to the 50's 60's ,pinch pleat panels are the way to go. For this room earthy, orangie colors in a bold pattern would be fab! That being said, if being true to the era is not as high on your list, a very simple sheer panel would be good as well ( Ikea has those sliding fabric panel things wich are nice and clean)
Lookin' good, hope that helped!

I know nothing about drapery but those pinch pleat panel drapes you mentioned are exactly what I would like to make or find. I have very gauzy shears on them currently and they just don't look right. Thanks so much for the suggestion.

You could always do a simple Barkcloth panel in a cool pattern. Fabric Mart has very reasonable prices on their repro Barkcloth fabric.
