On some of my photos I have like 900-2000 views and I have like 300 followers. Still I have between 5 like on my photos. Or 50 at the most.
I try to be active and comment; and like ,on other people's photos especially those whom I follow, but do not get so much of that back.
The thing I wonder is of people who choose to follow me only do it because they want me to follow them .....not because they like or are interested in my photos.
Or are my photos that bad that they're not worth any comments or likes? Do you have the same feeling as I do or is it just me?

I'm amazed too by the frequent discrepancy between quality of work and number of views/favs/comments. Here's one explanation. In my case I see a lot of work I really admire, but I don't often comment or fav the images simply because I'm racing to manage the four groups I admin in the limited time I have, inviting new members to help the groups grow, etc. Everybody has priorities, but that doesn't mean your work isn't deeply enjoyed and appreciated.

Hi Sarska,
i think some People really just follow you (and me) to get more followers on their own. Sometimes I take some time and look through my followers. When I think, they don't upload any (for me) interesting Pictures anymore and don't fave or comment on my Pictures, I will just unfollow them. Keeps the stream interesting, and I can Focus on the nice People who do comment or like my pictures as well.
BTW I think, you have really high-Quality pictures, I'm just looking through them

It is probably just me but I usually only follow people and fave photos of people who share their exif info. When I fave a photo it is so I can come back and look at it later and hopefully learn from it but as I say that really is probably just me. I mention this as after having just looked at your photo stream I haven't faved any photos despite the fact that they are all fantastic photos that are exactly the kind of photos I aspire to one day be able to take. Had you shared your exif info I would have faved loads of them. I did follow you however since if I really want to know about a specific photo you upload I could probably just ask.

If you worry about likes or comments, are you taking pictures to please yourself or others? And if a comment simply says "nice shot" or "that's horrible", does that really help you in any meaningful way? If one is going to critique someone else's photos in any meaningful way, it should be substantive. But most people either don't want to take the time to do that, or they don't know how it will be perceived. And with any critique, consider the source before buying into it. If they don't have a portfolio that short of amazing, then don't give too much credence to what they say.
Flickr used to be a wonderful community where people really shared and were interested in others´work. There were flickr friends, that were really friends. But Flickr made many changes in the layout, constantly, and everybody seemed to go cold.
I miss my friends, I miss other people´s comments. It used to be so nice...

You've been around twice as long as I have, so I don't know what Flickr was like back when it was a new and smaller site. But I don't see how the changes in layout have affected members becoming cold.
I think the world has become colder in recent years due to larger trends - the increasing power of special interests over government and hence tolerance of "innocent fraud" as business-as-usual, and the widely felt need to be politically correct instead of acknowledging uncertainty and respecting differences of opinion.
In an increasingly colder world at least Flickr doesn't make us pay for more than 200 uploads anymore.

HI Sara. You have some nice images in your photostream, and I can see a developing sense of style there. I'm going to flickrmail you a link to the photostream of another photographer with a similar style that I think you'll really like.
Like "My Sister's Keeper", I find it hard to find time to comment on a lot of images, even those of people I follow. Typically, those I follow have some creative aspect in their photography that I think I can learn from. Although I don't comment on most of their images, when I see one that really impresses me I'll favorite it and perhaps tell them why. I don't really expect anything in return, and in fact, I'd rather not participate in a "tit for tat" culture. But if you like my photos (or don't, for that matter), I really like to hear why. I'm a moderator for the Critique group, so that kind of feedback is important to me.
