Steve - Your profile states your current home town is Houston. Were you visiting here in Roswell, Georgia?
Jim,
I know what you are talking about. When I sse them they usually dive into the water. The first shot was inside a display for turtles. The water shot was in a small lake there. It is a funny thing that both of the turtles had their back legs sticking out. It must be a turtle thing.

Bill,
Here are a few more from your area.

My wife and I were traveling from Houston Texas along the Gulf Coast and then up the Atlantic coast. We went to Brunswick, Savanna, all the islands along the Georgia Coast and then on to South Carlolina. Went to Columbia, Spartanburg and then up north to the mountains. There we went to as many waterfalls as we could see in 2 days and headed down to Atlanta Georgia. We took 2 days to tour Roswell Georgia. Really enjoyed the area. Very nice place to live. After Roswell we went to Atlanta and visited some old friends and headed back to Texas. I see you are in Marietta, GA. Also nice area.
It was a great trip and I would like to go again and see more of the country.

Steve: Nice turtles. We got this golf course my way in North Carolina that sits on an old cotton farm. It's full of ponds and the turtles are too numerous to count. Same looking critters as you got here. Cheers. Don
Well done, Steve. Good ones of the turtle, especially the first.
I found a similar tortoise (it is a tortoise, isn't it? I get confused) in my front yard in Florida. I took possession of it for almost a whole day and shot it from every angle. Dozens of shots. Everything came out p*ss poor, so I finally took one of the shots and blasted it with one of Keitha's more extreme Lightroom presets and it turned out the pick of the bunch.

The little ingrate wouldn't even touch anything I tried to feed it. Just stared at me with murderous eyes the whole time.

Steve, it looks like you had a wonderful trip. The turtle shots are greatd but I am always a sucker for a waterfall.
Jon, Love the Keitha preset you used on that tortoise. (?) I have had a great deal of success salvaging otherwise awful shots using her creations. Lots of fun.

Don,
Turtles are a dime a dozen around our lakes also. Ever try to hit one with a golf ball? Seems like it would be good sport.
Jon,
I don't know what a Keitha preset is but it does look pretty good. Maybe your turtle was of Royal Blood and didn't like your vittles.
Robin,
It was a great trip but after about 3 weeks one gets somewhat tired of living in a motel from a suitcase. It was good to get back home.
