The Consol Energy Towboat, Arkwright, Port of Pittsburgh with a tow of empty coal barges heading West on the Monongahela River at Pittsburgh. The bridge in the distance is the Fort Pitt Bridge, beyond that is the confluence with the Allegheny River to form the Ohio River. It was near here that the Lewis & Clark Expedition started on their Westward journey. East of on the Monongahela River, a B-25 Mitchell medium bomber crash landed and disappeared in the the murky depths of the river, never to be found, or so the story goes, some say the military recovered the plane and its top secret cargo just a short time after the crash, who knows, the military isn't saying and the Monongahela isn't giving up any secrets. This photo was shot from the Smithfield Street Bridge.
