Schweriner Schloß - "Niklot" by Christian Genschow

The figure on the horse "Niklot" (1090 – killed in action August 1160) was a pagan chief or prince of the Slavic Obotrites and an ancestor of the House of Mecklenburg. Sculpted by Christian Genschow.

Holding the sword bottom left is Albrecht II Duke of Mecklenburg (Schwerin c. 1318 – February 18, 1379) sculpted by Christian Genschow.

Holding the scroll bottom right is Magnus II, Duke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin and Güstrow (1441 – 20 November 1503). Sculpted by Christian Genschow.

 

Holding the cross middle left is Graf (Count) Gunzelin I (1166 - 1187). Sculpted by Gustav Willgohs.

Holding the torch with his foot on a lion middle right is Graf Heinrich I (1187 - 1228). Sculpted by Gustav Willgohs.
