Faslam ist ein alter niederdeutscher Winterbrauch. Um die Wintersonnenwende herum zogen die Knechte und Mägde von Hof zu Hof, um mit bunten Verkleidungen und viel Lärm den Winter zu vertreiben. Heutzutage ist es mehr eine Art (unpolitischer) Karneval.
Faslam is a very old and special tradition in northern lower saxony. At time of midwinter the farmhands and maidservants masqueraded and went from house to house through the village. With lots of noise they wanted to banish the winter. Today its more a kind of carnival.
