Energy savings through heated pipes
Project Manager Carrie Ouellette, Programs and Project Management Division-Military, for the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, describes the tubing system that is installed under the cement flooring at the new 780 warehouse at the Defense Distribution Center-Susquehanna. The $24 million, 200,000 square foot project, distributes water warmed by the solar panel system on the south side of the building through an intricate pattern throughout the building. This renewable system will help to keep energy costs low. (USACE photo by Clem Gaines)
