Yoka Berretty
Dutch singer and actress Yoka Berretty (1928) started her career as a glamorous starlet in Italian films. She was married to publisher Andreas Landshoff, the son of German film actress Ruth Hellberg. Yoka played parts in the Italian films Angela (1955, Edoardo Anton, Dennis O’Keefe), the hit Pane, amore e... (1955, Dino Risi), La banda degli onesti (1956, Camillo Mastrocinque) and Gli occhi senza luce (1956, Flavio Calzavara). She returned to The Netherlands and played incidentally in international productions such as The Last Blitzkrieg (1959, Arthur Dreifuss) and Das Letzte Kapitel (1961, Wolfgang Liebeneier).
In the early sixties Yoka Berretty became a well known TV personality in The Netherlands and she also played parts in the prestigious Dutch films Makkers staakt uw wild geraas (1960, Fons Rademakers) and De Overval (1962, Paul Rotha). Her later films were VD (1972, Wim Verstappen), Rufus (1975, Samuel Meyering), Charlotte (1981, Frans Weisz), De Prooi (1985, Vivian Pieters) and Advocaat van de Hanen (1996, Gerrit van Elst). In the 1990’s she played leading parts in three films by the in 2004 murdered director and publicist Theo van Gogh, Eva (1992), Au! (1997) and In het belang van de staat (1997). She is the mother of director Benjamin Landshoff.
