Potosi Brewery - Potosi, WI
Gabriel Hail and John Albrecht first brewed beer in this building in 1852, and sold their interests to Adam Schumacher in 1886, who officially founded the Potosi Brewing Company. The brewery operated until 1972 and was one of Wisconsin's most prolific breweries, but couldn't compete with the larger breweries such as Miller, Pabst and Schlitz. The building was purchased by a local resident in 1995 and thanks to the craft-beer movement is a functioning brewery once again.
