Trying out my new (old) camera for fun. Minolta Hi-Matic 11 Super 3 circuit / Minolta Rokkor 44mm f/1.7 / Kodak 400 TX / Winter 2023
Könnt ja jemand auf den Gedanken kommen ...
Aufgenommen mit der Minolta Hi-Matic F auf einem Fuji Superia 200 (2015.05).
Again, just don't ask... I was seduced by the beautiful black bodywork. I don't even think I like the camera that much, being little more than a manual focus point and shoot with a semi ok 2.7 lens. Still its sure purrrrty
Note: these pics are taken from others sites but I will remove them when I receive my Himatic and take some decent pics of it

Thanks a lot for your visit, favs and comments.
The Minolta Hi-Matic 7sII was is one of the best of the Japanese rangefinder cameras made before the age of plastic “point and shoots” and SLRs had completely taken over the majority of the market. It was introduced in 1977.
This shutter is a priority autoexposure and manual camera is much smaller than the earlier Minolta Hi-Matic 7s which came out in 1966. Most notable is the high-quality finish on the Minolta 7sII.
The Minolta HiMatic 7SII was a versatile 35mm, shutter-priority rangefinder camera. The camera is very similar in most respects to the Vivitar 35ES, Revue 400SE and Konica Auto S3, and is believed to have been built by Cosina for Minolta. The 7sII has a fast (f/1.7) 40mm, six-element lens that has garnered a reputation for extremely sharp and detailed images.

Took the H-Matic, partly to build my confidence photographing random strangers, partly just to document it.

Was looking for some good exif software and stumbled upon AnalogExif ( sourceforge.net/projects/analogexif/ ). Very handy and simple to use. Makes adding my analog exif data very easy :)

So. A couple of things. I accidentally bought a Minolta Hi-Matic F last year. Was convenient, as I was looking for something small and reasonably wide for walkabouts. This is the first film through it. Shot last year, developed a couple of weeks ago.
This is also my first attempt at digitizing negatives with my Z6, the 24-70mm f/4 S, an extension tube, light board and a copy stand.
The mount for the camera bends a bit (which is no surprise, as it only cost £35) leaving the images a bit skewed. I also used the 35mm carrier/mask for my enlarger, to hold the negatives in place. I left the number slit uncovered, for ease of reference.
I was going to crop this down to the image itself, but I really like the skewiff border and number at the bottom. I think it's a really nice way to present the image.
Anyway!

A lady leaving. She really stood out, with the clothing she was wearing, so I was glad to have gotten at least a sort of photo of her.

I have recently adjusted my Hi-Matic F's meter so from now on it should give me better results in low light. Daylight test shots are promising but we'll see.
This was one of the few better frames earlier. I had to set the camera to ISO 100 or 200 to squeeze anything out of the shadows.
These Minolta rangefinders are my soft spot (one of many tbh) so let's hope I got it fixed.

When I had to extend the shelf for my collection, I took the opportunity for this shot.
So I can keep a list of my cameras on flickr instead on a piece of paper, which I will loose anyway.

A few weeks ago, I activated my darkroom again.
Since nearly 10 years, I had everthing stored in a cabinett. Even paper and chemicals. I am quiet excited now, where this way will bring me.

This camera's ISO range doesn't go beyond ISO 500 – but it underexposes a bit in low light so considering how the camera was set I will say this was shot at ISO 800. Some darker frames would have needed more light – or changes in how the film was developed.

I very much doubt this sales assistant in an optician's was totally aware (momentarily, at least) of the fact her clothes perfectly mimicked that of the next-door clothes' shop's dummy. The equally aqua blue sticker on the floor being definitely, an unexpected but more-than-welcomed bonus!
Camera: 40 year-old Minolta Himatic 7s rangefinder with 45mm fixed lens. No battery on the camera, so no lightmeter: I simply used the old Sunny 16 rule to get the exposure right.
