This is for Charlotte who commented about wishing she could visit Australia to see Autumn again. The autumn colours are really only just starting to turn but there are pockets of colour. My sister and I made the mistake of taking a detour on our Easter Sunday drive to see if the trees at Mt Macedon had changed yet. Well, so did 40,000 others. Not quite that many but if felt like it. There were thousands and buses were employed to ferry people from the bottom of the mountain to the open gardens. The small roads were chockers with cars. We just kept on driving but right at the bottom I saw a car park and whizzed in. We went for a lovely stroll along this tree lined avenue with the masses.

Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites. :)

Happy Bokeh Wednesday everyone.....have a great day!

Drops were teeny, tiny......better viewed large. A tighter crop made them too blurry. Thanks everyone for your visits, comments, and Flickr fun!

Happy Sliders Sunday, Everyone :-)

Charlottenburg Palace was originally commissioned by Sophia Charlotte of Hanover (1668 - 1705). She was the first Queen consort in Prussia, after her husband, the former Elector of Brandenburg

(Frederick III), crowned himself the first Prussian King Frederick I in 1701. Sophia Charlotte and Frederick founded a famous dynasty of Prussian kings with their son Frederick William I, also known as "Soldier King", and their grandson, Frederick II, also known as Frederick the Great.

The original name of the palace, which was inaugurated in 1699, and which was used by Sophia Charlotte as a permanent residence, was "Lietzenburg" (Burg = castle), as it was built on the grounds of what then was the small village of Lietzow which was located 7 kilometers from Berlin. After Sophia Charlotte's untimely death on 1 February 1705 at the age of only 36, King Frederick I (re)named the castle and the adjoining village of Lietzow "Charlottenburg"

in her honour. Today Charlottenburg is, together with Wilmersdorf ("Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf"), one of Berlin's 12 boroughs.

I took this shot after a very misty night where heavy dew had laid itself on this spiderweb. I used my 4x macro filter on my lense to get closer.

I did some sharperning and cropping in CS5 and changed the background colours to blue tone as the greyish morning mist in the background didn’t give it much colour.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Queen Charlotte’s Cottage, almost hidden away in a corner of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, was used by the family of King George III as a rural hideaway, a place to enjoy the surrounding woodland. Dating from 1771, the cottage is Grade II listed.and maintained by Historic Royal Palaces.

Here's a shot I caught the other morning. Enjoy!!! :)

My neighbor Charlotte has this incredible garden that fills up half her driveway. I get to reap the benefits of the gorgeous fruits it bears.

My noire interpretation of this orb weaver's web, minus the spider. The morning dew and backlight helped with the contrast. Processed with iPhoto.

With permission from Charlotte Saint Jean. Her cute dog pose inspired me for this little Study.

Spider web spun on a ranch fence line. Foggy rainy day makes relevant for the fall days.

Dating from 1771, Queen Charlotte's Cottage is an early example of a cottage orné, a rustic cottage built as a country retreat, but not as a residence. The cottage was used by the royal family in the late 18th century for resting and taking tea during walks in the gardens.

Its main attractions were its rural setting and the large paddock which was situated to the rear of the cottage.

Many exotic animals were kept in the paddock. Queen Caroline had kept tigers at Richmond, but George III and Queen Charlotte contented themselves with more docile pets, including oriental cattle and colourful Tartarian pheasants, which are still to be seen in this quiet area of the gardens.

From the early 1790s, kangaroos (the first to arrive in England) were kept and successfully bred in the paddock. By the early 19th century there were 18 kangaroos.

This made the cottage a popular destination for royal walks until 1806 when Mr Aiton, the gardener, was instructed to turn the kangaroo paddock into a flower garden.

No doubt the Queen was inspired by her gardener at Richmond, 'Capability' Brown, who introduced the picturesque landscapes to English aristocrats.

This was for my partners Daughter, she was 11 and wanted a 'blue fun' cake!

As I have a new airbrush i thought i would give it a go....it's not really what i had in my mind....but for my first attempt it was okay, Charlotte and all the friends thought it was wonderful...so thats all that counted x
