260
A sparkling shot of 260 in Princes Street at the Carphone Warehouse.
It's always exciting to get home after collecting a bus load of photos for the album and it's usually the case that most pictures will have to be tweaked or enhanced in some way. My friend and fellow enthusiast Gerard Fletcher, from Wisbech in Cambridgeshire, told me about a good editing suite called Ulead Photo Explorer 8.5 but this is seemingly no longer available and has been replaced by Paint Shop Pro. I am sure there are many excellent editing facilities available but this one is a marvellous tool for both amateur and pro alike.
Cropping a picture will greatly assist in removing unwanted edges and wide margins not required. Centring and balance can achieve good results and the removal of unwanted people, road works, cones and signs can be done at the touch of a button. Focus, saturation and colour correcting are all part of the suite and easy to use. Infact you might not realise it but several cones and a cyclist have been completely removed from this picture here and a new white line has been painted onto the road. The 'paint' facility is great and I must have taken out hundreds of lamposts which have an irritating habit of sticking out of the top of the bus! Painting the road is quite fulfilling and I think I might get a job with the council!
