I had found these crank arms several years ago. They were badly oxidized and with extreme shoe-rub wear (all the way down past the recessed logo labels). They had cost me nothing, so I had decided to play with them a bit - to salvage and refurbish them as something more interesting.
Recently, looking through a batch of spare chainrings, I discovered this 51 tooth chainring. It was a scarred and oxidized "single" (not bored for additional rings) which I thought might also be salvaged and modified to compliment these crankarms.
It was rainy today... I was off from work... so...
Rather than getting too "dainty" with the chainring drillings, I decided to keep my excesses down to this rather industrial look - which I think still adds a bit of visual interest. The chainring now looks nicely unified with the previously drilled arms.
