On the Amsterdam Bridge in Toronto
The harbourfront of Toronto, Canada is a busy place with lots of parks, restaurants, pubs and of course, some yachtclubs. One of the places with the best view on downtown Toronto, is from the Amsterdam Bridge. It was built and opened in 1974 as a symbol for the relation with the Dutch twin city. In Amsterdam, one of the bridges across the Amstel is called the Torontobridge to honour the Canadian twin city. The Amsterdam Bridge in Toronto was opened by the former mayor of Amsterdam, Wim Polak.
