Cascata Golf Course, Nevada Desert

I am not sure what I think about this - is it a valid leisure pursuit? A frivolous use of water in a desert? Does it help local wildlife survive the desert conditions? Does it introduce species to the desert that would not normally be there and interfere with the carefully balanced ecosystem? Las Vegas is in the bowl beyond the hills, this golf course is near Boulder City.
