Salisbury in the south of the UK's Wiltshire, with timbered buildings, an Early English Gothic Cathedral home to the famous Magna Carta, a thriving market, a buzzing arts scene, museums and some of England’s finest historic houses, and a school with a well known schoolmaster.

 

Sir William Gerald Golding was an English novelist, playwright, and poet who won a Nobel Prize in Literature, and is best known for his novel Lord of the Flies was schoolmaster (1945 - 1962) at Bishop Wordsworth's School which is a Church of England secondary school for boys providing grammar school education located in Salisbury, England.

 

Salisbury Cathedral, formally known as the Cathedral Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, is an Anglican cathedral in Salisbury, England, and one of the leading examples of Early English architecture. The main body was completed in only 38 years, from 1220 to 1258.
