Marjorie and Arnold Ziff Building, Leeds University

It's a shame that so many new buildings are sandwiched into small spaces where it's difficult to get a decent view of them. Also, of course, they may obstruct previous views of older buildings. I wonder how much architects take into account the surroundings rather than just the new building.

 

I suspect in this case the surroundings have been considered as the white cladding reflects the Portland stone of the Rupert Beckett Lecture Theatre. The other curved side seems to wrap around and reflect the older red-brick buildings.
