Opunohu valley and bay, around Cook's Bay, is one of the more tranquil and eye catching spot on the island. Most of the Polynesian scenes in the 1984 movie 'Bounty' were shot on Opunohu Bay.
Moorea is een Frans Polynesisch eiland, behorende tot de Genootschapseilanden in de Stille Oceaan. Het ligt slechts 17 km ten westen van Tahiti. Especially popular as a honeymoon destination, Moʻorea can often be seen in advertisements in American wedding magazines. Arthur Frommer declared in Frommer's travel guide that he considered it the most beautiful island in the world.
