Lakeside Signal Box seen here on the 30th May 2015. The box was built by the Furness Railway and opened in 1913. It is fitted with a 42 lever mechanical frame. The box was reduced to a non block post on 17th May 1966, probably the same time that the Plumpton Junction to Lake Side line was converted from electric token working to one engine in steam working and closed by British Railways on 11th September 1967 when the line from Plumpton Junction to Lake Side was closed. The signal box was reopened by the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway on 2nd May 1973.
