The Lettuce Hand

Sometimes a shot appears in my head.

It's not a "moment of time" capture, or exploring human interaction with the world. No, they are deliberate images that pop into my head.

I've had an interesting art journey...Art school, loved painting, but was intrigued by 3D modeling and animation and then photography years later after dabbling along the years.

I've found out over the years it all comes down to a canvas...whether it's oil, pixel or light, moment in reality or figment of my imagination, I try to capture it.

Show it to you.

I love the way the unexpected creeps into my images that are formed in my head. I didn't expect the head of lettuce, but it was the key to the image, the perfect ingredient that was guided by someone other than me.

Let loose the control and greater things will come.

Don't know what I think about this shot other than yeah, that's what i envisioned and wanted to share.

Shot with a Yashica Electro 35 GS on Kodak BW400CN, scanned on an Epson V500 with no sharpening, Unsharp Mask in P-shop and that's about it.
