Sanders County. Near Thompson Falls, Snider was named for Dave Snider, a Canadian who came to this area in the early 1900's and worked as a forest ranger, rancher, miner, and deputy sheriff. Snider was the site of a CCC camp in the 1930's; several buildings remain there today. A post office opened in Snider in 1949 (January 1) with O'Tillie Evans as postmaster. The office was closed in 1969 (February 27). View is along the Thompson River Road at Snider.
