Archduke male
This species is part of a large number of Southeast Asian butterflies with English "royal" names, such as Baron, Count and Knight, derived from the time when many of these countries were British colonies. There's also confusion about thespecies name itself. We get this one labeled "Lexias dirtea" but that species does not have the orange tips on the antennae. To make things even more complicated, some biologists include this species as part of another large group of butterflies called Euthalia.
